All you experienced Rawbies keep referring to something called a 'LARA BAR' what IS that? And where do I get them? :p

A lara bar is a raw bar made of raw nuts and dried fruit. There are lots of different flavors ,but my favorite is apple pie. You can get them at Costco, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe's, and probably lots more places that I don't know about. I have a stash in my car and my purse in case I get hungry away from home.

Thanxs Bananafana! My only choice here on the Islands will be Costco! We don't have Trader Joes (unfortunately!) or a Whole Foods Mart. Hmmm... does Trader Joes have a website - maybe I'll try that - because I've never seen Lara Bars at our Costco. :D

Hey StarFire- I just looked on my box of Lara Bars and they have a direct website that you can order from. www.larabars.com. Hope that helps you out.
Where is Revvel for her snappy comments?
She would tell you to use the banana to search for it! :)
There was recently a pretty heated debate about Lara bars not really being raw, and some people got feisty about it, so now people mention them out of fun a bit rather than because they loooove lara bars (although maybe some people just love lara bars too?!)...

Most health food stores carry them. Just be warned they are not all raw and some would say none are raw. I've not tried them but my daughter did and hated them.

Not trying to derail the thread, but this is now the second time I have heard about this banana search thing. I googled it and got nothing really. What conundrum might this be?

The banana is at the top of the Raw Food talk page between the apple and the tomato
it's for searching the content of threads on this site

Lara Bars are YUMMY! I love the cherry pie flavor. Raley's sells them and often has them on sale for $1.29 or under.

I liked the cherry pie one too. I was given it at a Yoga weekend seminar and I was so hungry that I would have eaten a shoe... But, regardless, it was tasty. ;)

After all the controversy on here I treated myself to those things. I liked them but I know that if I worked those ingredients that they would not stay fresh long enough to put in a wrapper with that moisture level so there are preservatives in there that do not have to be listed according to FDA. JMHO. Also I think that they are too filling in a way.

Mmm. Shaws sells them here, too. I like the Cherry Pie and the Chocolate Mole. =)

Lara bars are a very dense processed food product (not a living food). Your money would be better spent on some nice organic produce.
