How long does it take for skin to see the effects of bad eating?
What I mean is that my skin was clear. healing itself and then I ate bad abt weeks ago ( major SAD binge) and I see the effects of it on my skin NOW..2 weeks later,,major cystic pimples on the sides of my cheeks.
Is that normal to see an effect that late and how long for me to get it out of my system (acne) if I continue to eat major greens?

Thanks!

the effects for me usually pop up on the 3rd day after the day of poor eating. continues on for more than 1 day if i ate poorly for more than one day.

it takes about a solid week from the day i stop breaking out with something new for everything to get back to normal.

everyones body responds differently though. if yours takes 2 weeks to show up, it wouldnt be surprising for it to take 2 weeks to clear back up too. coconut internally and topically help me.

greens too.

Also, does the fact that they are on the sides of my check only signify anything?

cystic acne correlates with an upset stomach/digestion and outer cheeks correlates with dehydration. probably because the SAD wasnt properly digested and dehydrated you because it was..SAD :o

coconut butter/oil yes..its oil when warmed and solid when at room temp (usually). i spread some on at night, and take 3 tablespoons a day internally.

celery juice is really hydrating. cuke juice too. celery moreso than water, from what ive read.

wheatgrass pulp or foam on your face also helps.

It can easily take up to 10 days for a blemish to appear. I also use coconut oil on my face.

For the ppl who use coconut oil on their face..what does it do?
Reduce the blemish/scar or control active acne?

Thanks again

I just had a breakout yesterday. All was fine in the morn when i took my shower. Last night i took a shower again and whoa whoa whoa. pain in my right breast. What is this?????? One huge one and two small ones. I knew right away what it was. I have been doing a detox tea due to the fact that when i got sick in March and thought i was over it and found out 3 weeks later i still had it and my psoriasis was acting up that i had to do something. I am guessing that this is from toxins. Sure is a painful thing to have.
I did not even eat anything I should not have. Just only been doing Raw for about a month and a half but guess it takes a body much longer to heal.
Good luck on clearing up. It is great that when people eat Sad and have a negative response they post it so the rest of us can stay away from eating that way. Thanks to all of u that post this info. It is much appreciated.

RAWCA ~ I've been using coconut oil on my face consistently now for almost a year. Alissa Cohen and MissLinda got me hooked onto it. I don't know for sure if the coconut oil itself reduces acne, but for me...I started using it because I was told it was an awesome moisturizer.

IMO, I'm sure that it will help clear acne because it is a totally pure and natural ingredient. Nothing added to it, just pure organic raw coconut oil. Btw.... I've also used coconut oil on my lips when my lips were "burning" from the cold weather and it soothed it right away! Better than any commercial and even "natural" chapstick.

I no longer buy any cleansing or moisturing products for my face, not even ones at the HFS. I use raw honey as my cleanser and moisturize with coconut oil. That's it! If you want more of a scrub, MissLinda has also recommended mixing a little bit of almond meal/pulp with the honey. But my raw honey has crystallized and has a little bit of a scrub-like texture to it, so I've not had a need to add almond meal to it.

Hope this helps! I don't know if I truly answered your question though. :)

*** I forgot to mention that coconut oil does not clog your pores or make your face oily. I personally thought this before I started using it. I am so surprised at how clean my face is with the coconut oil!

Hi all-

Thanks for the feedback
What is cystic acne an indication of? I have never gotten cystic acne before!

When i worked for Dr. Murad, he would tell seminar guests "What you wear on your face today happened inside of you two weeks ago" He referred to digestion and stress here.

What was going on in your life a couple of weeks ago?

This is an interesting thread. Eat Your Broccoli, your information is well thought out and packed w/ facts. Thanks!! Where do you get your info? Is this your job? (if not, it should be) :)

I'm TERRIFIED to switch cleansers/ etc on face. 2-3 years ago I broke out in horrible adult acne and started using ProActiv. It worked like a charm and now I get compliments on my skin all the time. I've switched all of my other hygiene products - shampoo, body wash, lotions, etc to natural and I'm so scared to switch. I'd LOVE to try honey and coconut oil. did you break out during your transition to natural cleansers? Anyone? I know it's stupid, but I'm kind of vain, I guess... I HATE having pimples - makes me feel like I don't want to leave the house. and that isn't an option for me b/c I teach Yoga - people are looking at me as an example of health... bad skin might scare them away! :)

Hmm, I like that. I've been stressed a lot lately and I've been breaking out slightly. Me, the one with "china doll" complexion without a spot lol....I don't like it!
