Does anyone know when Alissa's dehydrator will be available? I didn't see it in the store.
I'm looking to get one, and don't want to get the Excalibur, if Alissa's is coming out soon.

Thanks.

DITTO That - BIG Time!!
And I'm guessing a good dehyrator makes a HUGE difference. I took a Raw foods class where the instructor used an Excalibur - totally kicked butt compared to my cheesey round whole in the middle thing. Honestly, the food tasted way better - I tried the recipes at home and her's tasted 100% better. Go figure.

I'm saving up for Alissa's - just would like to know when I can look forward to it - and kissing this crummy one good-bye - giving it the boot!

Hi!

Well, I will have the prototype the end of April. It supposedly take a only a month or so after that but you never know with these things. I’ll know much more after I get it in April and see what needs to be changed and if anything needs more work. They are doing an amazing job on it. A few things right off the top to let you know why it’s going to be so much better than all the other ones out there.

Whisper quite
A door that opens like a door so you don’t have to take the cover off and put it somewhere. See through door with, (I think a light in it).
Digital temp control
No plastic
Eco friendly (even the sheets – we are working on those now)
And get this – this dehydrator will cut down on the dehydrating time significantly because of where the fan is placed, air flow, etc…

Lots of other goodies and additions, but I’ll keep you updated in a few weeks.

Thanks!
Alissa

I'm excited and I can't wait either. I don't use the dehydrator as much as others on here but I think this would be good to have for my sister and I to share as she is beginning the process of embracing raw likes the breads and cookies that I've made in the past.

Wow! A door that opens!!

Alissa,

Any idea on what the cost might be?

I'm new to all of this and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to convince my husband to go raw without a food dehydrator. I can't wait to get yours and get rid of my old round one with a temperature dial that easily gets set to a temperature that is too hot.

Also, I'm so glad to hear that yours will be whisper quiet and faster - two other complaints that I have about my current dehydrator.

Thanks for all you do for all of us.

Sue

I want want want a dehydrator too!! No idea if I can afford it.. and i don't really trust the "normal" ones... I read several times the temperature is easily getting to high...

So my question:

Will the dehydrator be delivered even to Europe?? Or will it be only available in US stores?:o

I do not have a real raw dehydrator yet and have not tried using the round one I have since going raw. This sounds like it would be a great unit with much better features than the other top models. It sounds like it will be THE unit to get. Can't wait to see them, or use one!

I hope that the outside is easier to clean too. That is one thing I don't like about the Exc. the texture on the outside really lets the dirt/grime cling to it.

I can't wait for Alissa's to come out.

Oh, that sounds fabulous. I'm glad it's sooner than later. It sounds like it will be worth the wait. I hope there will be one in green.

Thanks.

Alissa's new dehydrator sounds amazing! It seems like it will resolve all the complaints I have about the Excalibur (that stupid "door"!). Can't wait for it to be available for purchase...

Ooooh I am feeling frustrated! I *just* purchased the Excaliber, like, last week. I even got the largest one with the timer, too. And it is just so ironic because it took me almost 12 years to come to terms with its plastic-ness. I finally decided to just get one because I didn't know there were any non-plastic alternatives.

Oy. :(

Yours sounds totally and completely rawsome, though, Alissa!

So, just out of curiosity, I'm wondering ~ what will the price of your dehydrator be, Alissa? (Even just a ballpark figure would suffice.) And thank you. :)

So much anticipation:D
I wonder if the shelves will be structured so that you could fit a pan (like a square cake pan for example) in there...that would be great for things like lasagna and deep dish pizza.
