Okay ... sorry if this is silly :( BUT... I love celery and my question is - if you are putting it into a food processor - do you have to take the 'strings' off? I love the fiber - but the instruction booklet for the food processor said that you gotta do that... I would prefer to leave them on there! Any advice would be helpful - thankx

Nah, I put celery into my Vita-mix blender and Cuisinart all of the time but I do take the time to cut it up into small pieces first because of the strings.
Celery is one particular item I find it amazingly easy to taste differentiate between organic and sprayed. I don't think I have particularly sharp taste buds but can really taste the chemicals on the "conventional" celery.

Hi Star Fire,
I've never pulled the strings off either. I throw it into the Food Processor or Vita-mix cut up a bit, and that is all!
I love celery!!!:p

I appreciate the advice -- I pulled the strings off the first time- it was time consuming and stupid... glad to know I don't have to do THAT anymore!!:D

I never pull them off. I suppose it's conceivable they could cause a tangled mess in there but they never have for me.
