Hello everyone!
What do you know about Ann Wigmore? I read she didn't have one single gray hair at 82 years old! What did she eat? I read (correct me if I wrong) she ate sprouts, raw seed or nut cheeses, nut or seed milks, raw candy, lots of blended stuff, raw nut loaf. Tell me more! Was she 100% raw?
Love to all!
Oh and yes, she ate wheat grass juice?

P.S.
Love to all!

Actually, it's an even better story than that. She had grey hair and when she got into sprouting, the natural color grew back in! Isn't that cool?

Don't know if she was 100%. I did read that she was so incredibly transformed with sprout energy she only needed just a few hours of sleep a night. Can y ou imagine having that much time on your hands?

I'm THERE.....but its not because of Sprout Energy or RAW. I take naps some nights, and I sleep walk during the day.
Hi
Ann Wigmore authored a book on wheat grass. I have read many accounts of people whose hair returned to it's original color after using wheat grass for a period of time. I think it takes six ounces of juice a day. My hair is almost back to it's original color after using the wheatgrass juice for a year. Even my beard which was ninety percent gray now has more than fifty percent black stubble. I started taking the wheatgrass juice for another reason but the hair color change is the biggest proof that something is really going on. I keep fifteen trays of grass in rotation now and it is a good hobby but does consume some time. My wife was originally unimpressed, but now that she has seen my hair color change is taking as much as I am.

Do you think it would cure my husband's balding area!? ;)

I am not doing wheat grass yet and before doing Raw i was mostly vegan but I do have my almost natural out of control hair back. I have wings on the side and curls on the bottom in back. I can style it real easy these days so know that Raw has done wonders for my hair. Now it has taken over 60 years for my hair to get this wonderful color of grey. Not sure i want to have my natural color back. As a child i was a blonde but by teen i was dishwater blond. I like my grey better. So instead of not doing wheatgrass I will not do as much so i can keep my grey hair.:D

I'm going to include tons of wheat grass in my container garden! I'll save soooo much money in hair coloring!

6 ozs. is a lot of wheatgrass to get down!
Do you think the hair color benefit is still there if you take less?

I stopped coloring my hair about 6 years ago because of the hassle and because I knew all those chemicals absorbing into my body couldn't be good for me. I still dislike having gray hair, even though it's a beautiful silver color.
I'd love to return to my rich, dark brown color, naturally. I think I'm going to have to learn how to grow wheat grass!
Oh, to look young and beautiful again! :p

hopefully you all realize that the returned hair color is nothing more than a beautiful reflection of your healed body, just as glowing skin, eyes, fingernails, etc.
dont cut back on wheatgrass so that you wont get ur old hair color back, and conversely, dont do a bunch of wheatgrass to get good hair. realize that it is much, much more all encompassing than that.

Amazing! I've just looked up Ann Wigmore and found quite a bit. Was it the rejuvelac or all raw in general that brought her hair back to its original color?
I'm starting to go grey myself.

One of Ann Wigmore's books (can't remember which one) was the first raw recipe book I read.
What a pioneer, starting raw so far ahead of so many! What a future thinker!

It was sprouts.

I believe she consumed mostly her energy soup recipe. Also, along with wheatgrass she was a big proponent of rejuvelac and sprouts, which were both ingredients in her energy soup.

I wonder how long she would have lived if she hadn't died so tragically?

I've wondered that too. But what a legacy she left, huh? I suggest everyone reading all the AW books you can get your hands on. She did some amazing footwork for all of us.

I color my hair because of my graying hair also. I have been juicing Wheatgrass (I drink 2 oz a day) and making rejuvelac (I drink about 2 glasses a day). I also have been growing my own sprouts & eating them every day. Hey...I'm on a mission here! I want my beautiful brown hair back! ;-)
Ann Wigmore is my hero!

Dr. Ann Wigmore, in The Blending Book, states, "Rejuvelac is a slightly fermented wheatberry drink that is one of the most important items in the living foods lifestyle". She further states, "Rejuvelac plays a vital role in restoring health". Dr. Ann says, "Rejuvelac contains all the nutritional nourishment of wheat and is more easily digested. It contains the friendly bacteria that are necessary for a healthy colon and to remove toxins. It is also filled with B complex vitamins and vitamins C and E". In her book "Hippocrates Live Food Program" Dr. Ann quotes food chemist Harvey Lisle, who did extensive research on Rejuvelac's contents, "Rejuvelac is rich in proteins, carbohydrates, dextrines, phosphates, saccharins, lactobacilli, and aspergillis oryzae. Amylases are enzymes derived from aspergillis oryzae which have the faculty of breaking down large molecules of glucose, starch, and glycogens". Dr. Ann also states that Rejuvelac replaces water on the live foods program.

Ann Wigmore was my hero well before I discovered raw. I love this woman. Her grandmother made poulitices out of wheatgrass to heal wounds for WW1 soilders. She learned alot from her grandmother. By the time she was 50 she was quite sickly. She devoted the rest of her life to nutrition. It took 25 years for her hair to turn back to it's natural color and that was through the use of wheatgrass. She was a huge proponent of natural foods ie: raw. She later retracted her use of 'rejuvelac' and decided it was not good. She was a sprouter and the pioneer for the use of wheatgrass (which btw repairs DNA, reverses the aging process, just to name a few). Love to wake up in the morning, run to the gym, work-out, run to my nearest wheatgrass supplier, grab a shot, run home to my 'green smoothie'. Check out the Hippocrates Institute & definitely read 'The Wheatgrass Book' by Ann Wigmore. She was what I like to call the: 'nutrition nun'!

I have not heard that at all about rejuvelac being bad. I try to dring it every day. When there is a bad batch...you know it by the smell. I love the way it tastes. I think I will still drink it though. Oh well!

Her institute sent rejuvelac to a lab and found that half the batches were full of bad bacteria as well as good and that you couldn't tell by smell if it had bad in it. (I suppose the batches that smell bad have even more bad in them or maybe less good)
Anyway - she drank upto 8 8oz glasses per day which is a lot of wheatgrass considering a lot of people only take one shot of 2oz.
She also ate energy soup every day. And blended all her food - she said if I'm going to eat an apple I blend it first, because I don't to waste its energy or mine.
She lived on 2 hours sleep a day. When I have a lot of green smoothie or energy soup I can't sleep much, but I don't yet feel as good without sleep as with.
