Okay, I have been drinking wheatgrass juice for about a month now. I started with 1 oz in the morning, and then upped it to 2 oz. I seemed to do fine on this. I was drinking it on an empty stomach and everything and I felt fine.

I have been on a juice fast for only 2 days, and I thought I would start my day with a shot of wheatgrass. I took a shot, felt fine, and headed off to work. I was in my classroom (I teach elementary school) passing out papers this morning when all of a sudden I felt so nauseated. It was so quick that in less than 3 minutes I ran to the bathroom and puked all of my wheatgrass up. Of course all of the little kiddies saw this and the other teachers. I felt super embarrassed and everyone was asking me "are you pregnant?"

BTW, no, I am not. I am wondering though, what caused this? Is it because my body is just super toxic and too much of this good thing was more than I could handle today? I guess it just makes me wonder why my body doesn't puke up all of the horrible crap I have been putting in there for the past few years, but when I put the most pure and best thing in my body, it decides to throw it up??

I am confused.

Maybe it was just one of those days?

hmmm...wheatgrass juice has always made me nauseous, and i know there are some articles out there about how wheatgrass grown in trays often has mold in it, even if you cant see it, and that that mold often makes people sick or unable to tolerate the juice...you might want to check that out... although if you'd already been drinking it for a month, it seems strange that you would only start having a reaction now....

just a thought

I've thrown up many times on wheatgrass. My cat did it all the time too.:p

The scientific reason for this is as humans we only have one stomach and have a hard time digesting grass unlike cud chewing animals such as cows who have many stomachs.

Many folks chalk it up to detox. I chalk it up to the fact that we aren't naturally grass eating animals - leaves and shrubs yes, but not grass.

I've found that not taking wheatgrass on a totally empty stomach fares better for me. I would never take it while I'm on my current juice fast. I'd be praying to the porcelain god every morning, no doubt about it!

My guess is that you puked cuz your tummy is totally empty and wheatgrass is hard on our non-cud loving stomachs. However, some folks have no problems with it. I guess they're just less sensitive.

Hope this helps.:D

The answer is simple, you are drinking too much wheatgrass juice. It is best best to cut back a bit.

You can try mixing wheatgrass juice with carrot juice.

It has Nothing to do with detox...Wheatgrass should be Sipped, Slowly, Never Gulped. Try lying down after you drink it.......

I can't deal with wheatgrass juice.
It burns my stomach to high heaven and makes me vomit too.

I just don't believe it's for everyone.

Try mix it with other juices or cut it back to 1/2 once or less. Everybody is different.
