My fiance and I have been attempting to go "all raw" but I find my belly is reacting badly when I eat all raw. I have bad cramps and generally an upset stomach. Should I be avoiding certain foods and increasing others? I found it easier to go "raw 'till dinner" but now I just don't enjoy eating anything. Any advice would he extremely helpful.

-Go back to a way of eating that is comfortable for you and change your diet more slowly....by incorporating the fresh fruits and vegetables that you love....and you know agree with your digestion. Just a suggestion.

I have experienced this too. Today is my 5th day raw. On day 3, in the morning I was Vomiting. My tummy was hurting so bad. Then I ate a few Kashi crackers and I was totally ok for the rest of the day.
I want to be 100% so bad I kept going. My tummy is feeling a lot better. I think it is just such a huge adjustment for your body and expecially your stomach. Whenever I feel like if I eat another raw thing I'll be sick, I just let myself get a little more hungry and then I can more easily tell what my body is craving. That's how I know what is the "right" thing to eat.
Also I found that greens are easier on me than nuts and fruit. So if your stomach hurts, a green salad might actually calm your stomach, and your nerves.
Hope it helps;)

It is not uncommon for some people to experience gas/bloating when transitioning to raw. Try to keep things simple (as opposed to the heavier dishes) for now and/or introducing raw foods gradually as others have suggested. Much success on your raw journey ~ Cathy

You may find it helpful to take some enzyme supplements and/or probiotics until your body adjusts.
Also, some of your symptoms can be interpreted as withdrawal from eleme ts you have "soft" addictions to.
I find that I do best when I limit very fibrous, or starchy veggies...like cauliflower, or broccoli. I can eat those when I marinate them, but by themselves they make me feel gurgly..but they did so even when I was eating a cooked diet, so...
copious amounts of garlic or onions do a number on me....peeee--yooooo!
I find this diet extraordinarily EASY on my fussy digestive system when I focus on lots of juicy fruits, tender veggie and greens, like lettuces, peas, cukes, tomaters, and shrooms, and smoothies galore.
Basically, I eat like a really healthy baby...lol.

If I combine a really sweet food with a really fat food (like banana with avacado) I get a stomach ache. Taking enzymes with the food helps a lot; probiotics help also, but observing food combining rules helps the most.
Good Luck! :)

I was like this for about 3-4 weeks at the begining... Simple to start is key. not too many dried fruits+nuts. Fresh veggies/fruits as much as possible until your tummy calms down. I also add raw ginger to juices and salads and find this helps- but yes you may get a lot of gas etc... in the begining. Make sure you are eliminatining=pooping ok, lemon/water and a pinch of salt first thing in the morning should help as well as ground flax. Just hang in there it shall pass in a short while.;) :D

Another thing that happens.
Remember how it feels when you don't work out for a while, then you do a big ole workout day and your muscles ache for days?
Well, your gut hasn't been working properly for YEARS and now you're putting food in it that's making it work correctly... and it does cause it to cramp sometimes. Because the food is moving faster and it's not a sensation you're used to, and becuase the muscle is just tired and not fit.
Go a little slower, like people have suggested, if you wish.
Or just suck up and do it.
Keep a food diary and try to figure out which foods are giving you pain and introduce them more slowly maybe?

Typically I eat green juice in the morning, fruit following, a salad with a flax cracker and maybe raw soup for lunch, and veggie pasta at night. On ocassion I like the raw pies or dates with nutes for a desert.
