Hello. I have been 95-98% raw for one week now and I feel great. I have lost 9 pounds and can feel my body healing :) Yippee. I am wondering if I need to be 100% raw or if 95 will get me excellent results as well long term. I like being able to have a bite here and there of something cooked, or some skim milk in my smoothies. I also like eating wild rice: not cooked, but soaked. Does this count as a raw food? It makes for delicious salads with almonds and grapes, yum! It is parched after harvest, but it still appears to have a lot of good nutrition and fiber in it. What do you all think? I need a lot of help and support to tell you the truth. Anyone taking the time to respond is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

id say do whatever it is that makes you feel best. if that 95% is what makes you feel best, then do that. youll probably see in time that your body wants to go up to that 100% level..its often a natural progression. once youre comfortable at 95%, maybe give 100% a chance for a full 30 days. you may be surprised at how much better you can feel (even though you may not think thats even possible after improvements at 95%)
just be careful about mentioning dairy, as its a vegan board ;)
congrats on your week and best of luck to you :)
also, im not sure about the parched rice. you could always call or email the company to ask what temp it was parched at. anthing below 118 degrees is pretty much okay. and soaked is always better than boiled :)

Fresh fruits and vegetables are the most vital and sustaining - in my opinion/experience. During your transition, though, I would say to eat a WIDE variety of fruits and vegetables.....stay full....and only stretch a little at a time from where you are VERY comfortable now. Drink plenty of fresh water (when you are not eating)...and stay joyful!

I think you have to do what is comfortable for you. A lot of people here are all raw but many are like you or they are slowly transitioning. It really is all up to you. I have seen in many raw cookbooks recipes that use soaked wild rice. However, many have questioned if it is truely raw or not. Sorry I can't help you with that answer. Maybe do a search with the banana and see if there are any threads that talk about it. But again it may be another judgement call you will have to make. How I look at it is if you are improving your diet and overall eating habbits, good for you! Listen to your body, as I believe our bodies are very intuitive as to what they need. I try to do the monthly challenges at 100% but I am not going to drive myself crazy over 100% 99%, or 95% (for me it is a journey - a process of learning how to change). I know I am eating 100% better than I used to so I am happy with that. You will have to find the balance that works for you! Just know that this is a website that is for the purpose of promoting eating raw food! Best wishes to you!
