Hey does anyone know anything about the Grapples? I looked them up on Google, but got conflicting information, some sites say that it is an apple soaked in all natural grape flavoring, and others say it's soaked in artificial flavors. Just wondering if anyone had info on these because they are so delicious!
Thanks

how about soaking your own apples in fresh-made grape juice overnight in the fridge? maybe with a squirt of lemon to keep them from browning much.

If you soak an apple it will float, not absorb anything..the skin seals the fruit for the most part...unless you peel them, that might work.
In thier page on making a grapple it says....
Ingredients: apples, natural and artificial flavor (what might that be?)
But they do say it is not GM...but done thru a patented process.....

My dad bought a pack a few weeks ago. They smelled SO fake. They smelled like grape candy. EW!

I had never heard of them..LOL.. I cannot believe they have been out since 2005. I need to get out more..:p
I think I would try one if I saw them in the store and you did not have to buy a whole box. ;)
thanks for the interesting link.. I guess it is better for kids to be eating them than fries or burgers...
:D Have a great day!!! :D
I looked at them in the store. And then walked away to the organic apple section.

Why not just buy grapes and eat them? And buy apples and eat them? Why are we trying to make an apple taste like a grape? What next, make a peach taste like an apple? A pear taste like a peach? What is the logic here. Please help me out?
his Patent Pending process is complex and the ingredient mix primarily includes concentrated grape flavor and pure water.
That means a chemical made to taste like a grape. If it were real grape juice, it would state so. I recommend reading Fast Food Nation to get the skinny on the chemical companies and their relation to the food we eat.
And this company just got a grant to put these Crapples, whoops! I mean Grapples in school lunch programs.
Great. More chemicals.... that's what the kids need.

JGex~ I don't have access to the book right now, so I went out and rented this movie. EW... I am so grossed out. How could anyone eat meat and fast food after watching that? I actually read that the author isn't even a vegetarian... and he had to see all that first hand...yuck.

My BF and I see these in the store and crack up. If you want grape bubble gum just have it.
The last time I checked, apples were one of the easiest things to get your kids to eat. Why flavor them like Nehi Soda? Can you imagine, pretty soon kids are gonna say, "Ewwwwwwww. This food tastes too real!"
