The signature lines on some of the posters are getting really over the top.
Please be considerate and remember that this is not a board for advertising your products, services or programs and your personal agendas.

Alissa has been kind enough to let you all post your signature and basically advertise in them but they are getting way too big and complicated.

Many of them have a listing of services and products and links and many of them are WAY TOO BIG. Its getting difficult to even read the post without having to scroll past everyone’s signature lines.

We love quotes and links to peoples blogs and all of that but many of you are advertising your own web sites, putting links to your products and services and making this a personal advertising space for yourselves.

I am actually speaking with Alissa about taking the signatures off altogether as I don’t think it serves a purpose on this board and I think it actually takes away from what this board is here for.

PLEASE BE RESPECTUF of this space. You all know who you are who are doing this.

We will be contacting you if you do not change your signature line within the next few days or we will just remove it all together if you decide to ignore this post.

There are many other sites out there that do not let you post links or add them in your signature line.

Alissa does not want to make this a hard fast rule (even though we all think she should!) but it may come down to that if this keeps getting ridiculously out of hand.

Need examples?
I want to be clear and I know it can be confusing so let me give you some examples:

These signatures are fine, there is no problem with these types of signatures.

http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/member.php?u=7857

http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/member.php?u=7553
http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/member.php?u=5304

This one above may be a little big, but its fine, no links, lots of love and gratitude, etc… It is also fine to advertise the living on live food teachers as it is Alissa’s site and she wants to allow her teachers to get as much exposer as possible.

but really, these below gotta go:

Here’s an example of this kind of signature that we are talking about, with the actually names and info being changed:
-----------------
This is the exact signature with bla lba bla put in, in place of the actually site:
Check Me Out At www.blablabla.com or www.myspace.com/blablabla!

Sign up for my fun & informative monthly Health Bulletin! Send a blank email with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line to blablabla@yahoo.com to find out about my upcoming Recipe E-books, featuring my *infamous* raw vegan cinnamon rolls & more! :-)

Join blablabla, an exciting NEW media alert e-mail service for health watchers. Send an email indicating SUBSCRIBE to blablabla@yahoo.com!

Even if this was tones down to something like this:

Check Me Out At www.blablabla.com
in a much smaller signature, it would be ok.

-----------------------
another one:
-----------------------
PS. Drop by for an Un-bla bla bla at The bla bla bla!

Check out My Space!
--------------------------
Just kind of blatant advertising and since Alissa is trying to be nice about this I think its only right that your respectful here of her and her site.

Most of the signatures are fine but we wanted to make you all aware of the fact that most boards do not allow this at all and that this is not a place to sell yourself or advertise. It’s a place to get advice, motivation and help according to the living on live food raw food way.

Thanks for your understanding.

Best,
Bowie

Also on that note… it’s been confusing for the moderators to know when to remove a thread or leave it. So I thought I’d give a little more insight into this. It’s not black or white.

If there is a thread going on about cancer, lets say. People are writing helpful info and giving their ideas and thought and someone comes on and says ‘I heard great things about this, maybe it will be helpful to you’ and post a link to a place like Sanoviv cancer institute or something. That’s great!

But when someone post a new thread saying “go to David Wolfe's site (only using him as an example because it just happened) and there is a link to his site, videos, etc.. it’s not ok!

Its not that we don’t want you to have information. But there is a large world out there on the web and you can find anything you want on it, just google it. But this is not the place to advertise yours, others and miscellaneous info. This is a site to support Alissa Cohen’s living on live food book and DVDS and the people that want support, encouragement and help staying on it and going raw in the way she promotes it.

We don’t go on other boards spamming Alissa’s name or her ‘way’ all over their sites, disregarding their views and methods.

Now again, this is not always black and white. There are TONS of links and TONS of mention about other teachers, other methods, etc.. Alissa doesn’t get crazy about this and I have to say is pretty loose around this ‘rule’. But blatant advertising, links and things pertaining to another way of doing this diet are not permitted. If you do not want to follow Alissa’s method of how to go and stay raw, there are many other sites, natural hygiene, 80-10-10, etc… but please be respectful of what this board is about. Again, this is not even heavily reinforced, but really! Some of the post lately are over the top and a little more then obvious.

I guess the bottom line is. This is a free board set up by Alissa because she cannot answer everyone’s questions when people write or call the office. She set this board up so people can get the info they need, get support and help and not feel alone in this.

When there are a million links to other places, signature lines with a ton of other things that people have going on for themselves and their own business, ect, it gets, not only confusing, but begins to look like very disorganized and distorted and people cannot focus on why they are here and what this board is really for.

Thanks,
Bowie

bumping up as I've been noticing a lot of large signatures. Please keep them no greater than about 1-1.5 inches in height...your signature should NOT be so long/large that it looks like there is another post below yours and yours is actually the only post in a thread! Notice how mine is small...height-wise as well as the font size.

We have gone in and resized some of them, but this is too time-consuming so we are asking you all to please tone down your signatures if they are larger/longer than what has been indicated. Otherwise, we may have to remove your signature altogether! Thanks!

Bumping again. Please take a look at your own signature and adjust it accordingly. If need be, remove some of the links or make the font smaller and don't have spaces between lines of text...these signatures must be toned down or we may end up losing the ability to even have signatures (and I'm sure yall don't want that!) so please check yours and if it's large as described in the first post of this thread, make it smaller!

I'm bumping this up again as a warning...I've been seeing a few larger-than-acceptable signatures again as of late!

Please read this thread and adjust your signatures accordingly otherwise, it may end up removed altogether!
