Alright folks, I dropped off the raw bandwagon about 2 weeks ago after having done 30 days raw. I've already put on between 10-15 lbs since then and I get really weird feelings when eating donuts or even dairy. I'm tired of the weird feelings, although I am still raw every breakfast. :P
So I ordered Alissa's book (I was reluctant to order it since I have about 8 other raw books), but your encouraging words (and that it has a DVD) have inspired me to drop the $55 on it.
I'm going to give raw another shot to see if it really does lead to these crazy energy benefits you all speak of, and if it can cure my sinusitis, even better! Expect to see more posts from me next week. :P

When I'm raw my nose is always clear. When I eat dairy or other non-raw stuff it gets bad again. My fiancee eats SAD and it grosses me out because he's always spitting and blowing his nose and snorting in snot. When I eat something that I shouldn't, like dairy or even cooked food, my nose often starts to run right away. That's a big sign to me. Good luck. Fasting has also helped clear my nose. Though it can be gross in the process, because it comes out but then it's gone for good. (unless you put it back in)

Hey mikeshafer! Gosh, you surely won't go wrong by buying Alissa's book AND DVD! Good job! I read and highlighted loads of information in her book. I have just about every raw book out on the market and hers by far is THE BEST! I also have learned so much from this forum.
We are here to encourage you along your journey.
What has helped me is knowing how crappy I felt eating SAD/CRAP and how alive and healthy I feel eating raw. That I don't get any more migraines. That I sleep better. That I think more clearly.
There are only positives for me to eating raw. I have yet to find a negative. I don't believe there are any. But I can name loads of negatives about eating SAD/CRAP.
It's a mind thing too. You can only get there by putting your mind to it. I was at my wit's end. There was no where else to go. And then along comes Alissa. She literally saved my life. And I thank my lucky stars she did.
There are no coincidences in life.
We have all met for a purpose.
I wish you well on this new journey in your life!

Mikeshafer,
Listen up...here's a little know fact about the Monkeyboy.
Your sinus problem may be physical. I had trouble breathing for many years.
Well...come to find out I had polyps in my sinus cavity which was obstructing my airflow. I needed an operation to correct. Nothing to do with what I ate.
Two years later I had a tumor removed from the cavity.
I'm fine and raw has helped.
I suggest you see a head and neck specialist soon.
In 5 minutes with a small scope the doctor can see what your problem is.
Too many people say.."oh its allergies", but I say go find out for sure.
Peace,
M.B.

My friend had polyps removed and the Doctor told her if people would do this nose cleanse, he would be out of business. I've done it quite a few times over the years when I had a cold and it helped.
put some warm water in a cup
add a small amount of celtic salt
Hold 1 nostril, while slowly taking in water with other nostril
Slowly put head back and let water drain up and down throat, spit out water
Repeat other side
blow nose
Do this 2x

Hey Monkeyboy: yup, I'm taking strong allergy medication now, and I'm seeing the best ENT in Seattle in a month (these guys book far out). Hopefully he will be able to detect what's going on, but in the meantime my medication and raw food can help.
