Okay - so i have a bunch of questions about this. I will list them to make it easier to read.
First of all, is it okay if i don't do it with the book?
Do you get results just by going from a normal junk-food eater to a vegan?
Do i need all sorts of 'different' supplements and roots and stuff?
Can't i just live on fruits, veggies, water, and nuts?
Should i start at being a vegan first, before going to a raw food eater?
That's all i can think of for now. The way i see it (im a very picky eater), eating is just like a quick thing in life. I hate most veggies but i think that i can just force them down. I would much rather have a good feeling in my body than a good taste in my mouth.

Hi there! I saw in another thread that you're 14, that is really good that you are even considering eating healthier!!
Well, to answer your questions:
First of all, is it okay if i don't do it with the book?
- Well, you surely could but having the book would just answer so many questions for you! It would give you tons of recipes to try (if you want to) but aside from that, it will give you answers to many of the questions you want to know; encourage and inspire you and guide you. Even if you can't get it right now, definitely put it on your wish list and get it as soon as possible.
Do you get results just by going from a normal junk-food eater to a vegan?
- Surely, but you won't get the most optimal results. Anytime you eliminate junk from your diet you will reap benefits, but you will get even MORE results when you eliminate more and more cooked foods and incorporate more and more raw foods!
Do i need all sorts of 'different' supplements and roots and stuff?
- No, not at all. Many feel that you can get all you need from simply eating a variety of plant-based foods. The main questionable thing is Vitamin B12 and if you do a search, you will find many discussions on that and all the various opinions and views on that. That "might" be the only one thing you'll "need" to supplement, but again, there are many raw fooders who have been doing this for many years who do not take them and are still thriving...it's up to you to make that decision based on the pros and cons you will read up on.
Can't i just live on fruits, veggies, water, and nuts?
- Yes! That is basically what this "diet" is all about - some people just choose to sometimes take those foods you mentioned and create various recipes from them. But you can definitely just live on fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds!
Should i start at being a vegan first, before going to a raw food eater?
- That's not necessary. Many people go straight from cow/pig/chicken and fish-chewin' folks to raw vegan/vegetarian. But some people did make such a transition before they ever heard of raw (as I did) but you have to decide if you want/need to make such a transition and gradual progression as that or to just go ahead and start eating more fruits and veggies, etc. and eliminating things little by little.
As for veggies and not liking them, you don't have to feel hardpressed to eat a lot of veggies you don't like just for the sake of eating them. This "diet" is all about eating what YOU love and enjoy! If you don't like something, don't eat it. Eat what you DO like and as your body gets cleaner and your tastebuds change, you will find that some of the very same veggies you don't like now, you may end up LOVING later! :) That has happened to a great many of us! But for now, no need to force anything down...just have fun and eat what fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds you like/love!

Just because something is vegan doesn't mean it's healthy. All those chick-patties and vegan meats are so processed! I look at raw as getting back to nature. So don't eat things that have a laundry list of things on the back that are in there. If there's more than 10 things on the ingredients list don't buy it! Also as you get more clean you'll find that you might like things you never did before. That happened to me. The first time I tried a young coconut I hated it, now I drink them all the time. Also the best investment I made, besides a food processor, was my juicer. You can get a lot of veggies in this way, you don't have to taste them, just mix the veggies with fruit. It helps you get a lot of raw in your diet to clean you out.
