Where in the south bay are you located? If you are talking about San Jose area then you can try Cafe Soultise in San Mateo

There is a great raw Vietnamese (?) restaurant near Newport Beach called Au Lac. They have a raw menu and a vegetarian menu. This is the restaurant that Alissa would take her "students" to during the teacher certifications. It's awesome! And it was my first raw restaurant I went to. If you go, you must try their Choconut X-stacy dessert!! It's to die for! :)
Here's their site for more info:

It's a bit further south, but Huntington Beach has a cute place in a strip mall off Warner Ave. I believe--it's called Good Mood Food Cafe...I went there last fall and hubby and I enjoyed dessert and the sampler platter...nice energy there too!
I also love The Stand in Laguna Beach, right next to Laguna Beach Cyclery. It's further south more for you, but you can eat outside and enjoy :) Great guacamole salad and they have to live for raw almond milkshakes with fruit :)
I've never been there, but isn't there a restaurant by Juliano in L.A.? I hear it's quite lovely :)
(I'm not a local...yet, but have traveled several times to OC and L.A.)
Enjoy!

We were just at Melissa's Terra Bella in Redondo. She's got the most decadent desserts. She told us she's changed her menu since she opened but food is ALWAYS good. She's also having classes there ~ one on desserts on the 8th. Tell her Revvell sent you please. :)

Wow!! I need to try Terra Bella.
The first time i tired Leaf it was great. The next time it was horrbile. Both times my son has gotten the smoothies and did not like them. And felt it was not worth the 6 bucks. Everyone 's taste buds are different so maybe you might find something you like.

Well, Alissa and I talked a bit about raw food restaurants and, I think we both agreed, go for the desserts!!!! I've been to Leaf a few times. Don't find their wraps too great but the desserts!!!! Oh yummmm!
Not tried Terra Bella's new menu but got some of the cinnamon rolls yesterday.... oh, my gawwwwd!!! Not as good as the baked ones yet, on their own they are a real treat! Have two left. Wont have them by the end of the day. :p
