I tried some edamame last night that was frozen. I assume it was flash frozen. I thawed it out and soaked it in some warm water for a few minutes then salted it and ate it. It was wonderful. But I began to wonder if it was really raw this morning. It doesn't say cooked anywhere on the bag. It was Woodstock Farms brand. Does anyone know if they have a website?
I'm thinking somehow it's not really raw. I've been feeling great till this morning. My feet HURT. My knees HURT! And I could have slept till noon I think. I feel like I've got a hangover.
(I know about the soy controversy.) My question is frozen edamame really raw???
Does anyone know?
I would imagine they are blanched before they are frozen, but the only way to know for sure is to ask.

I'm sure they are cooked, then frozen. As to getting fresh, raw soy beans? I've never seen them in the store......but I HAVE sprouted soy bean. I can't say I was overly impressed! LOL. Just my experiences / opinion.

My understanding is that frozen edamame is cooked, then frozen. I don't think it would taste good without being cooked in some way. although i may be wrong..

Well, I must say they were very tasty. But after the stomach problems that I have experienced throughout the day, I will not have them again. Feels like rocks in my stomach. And I still feel hungover and my color is sickly yellow looking and blotchy.
Oh what I would do to have the choice to make over again!

Edamame is soy right? I hope it was organic cuz otherwise it was probably GM. I have heard from a lot of people that soy is not really the health food it's made out to be...like it ocntains tryspin which inhibits protein absorption, and it can mess with hormones.
