and, as I journalled in my blog, feel as though I have been given the other half of the equation: the tools to fight the psychological battle!!

Alissa, I am so very grateful to you for the wealth of information you have provided in your book! I have gotten very tired of reading health/nutrition info where it seems like something is held back . . . your work is clearly a labor of love in which you spared nothing to get the newbies going and help us stay the course.

If you don't have the book yet: get it! I understand so much better now both why I have struggled and what to do about it. May heaven help me through the coffee withdrawal over the next few days, but I AM IN!!

I ordered mine today. I can't wait to get it because my hubby keeps asking me what we are eating next week when we go fully raw and I keep telling him "lettuce". I'm hoping there are some quick, easy things in there that will satisfy even my little ones.

PeanutBee - yes, there are lots of yummies in there to satisfy little ones! There's pizza, fruit pies, lasagne, crackers, muffins, all kinds of sauces and the best part is how simple it really is! I have two pizza crusts dehydrating at the moment, made some rich cheddar sauce (I use my own recipe) and have garbanzos soaking for hummus (a great spread for the crusts). Eating raw is WAY more than salad and fruit, I promise! I had already been introduced to the idea of raw "un"cooking, but Alissa's book surprised me. There is SO much in there under every category, and she even outlines a four week plan and shopping lists. That helped me a lot!

It is a massive, wonderful book with lots of space for writing recipes we've tweaked to our personal opinion of perfection, note taking . . . and tons of resources in the back. I can be pretty hard to please when it comes to how information is presented, and honestly, this book does a fantastic job. Alissa makes it very, very simple, and a whole lot of fun! After I went shopping this morning I came home and started whipping up all sorts of stuff, remembering her admonition to have lots of raw stuff on hand, especially when one is getting started.

Let's hear it for raw!!
