Bitter wheat berries?

I've tried a few recipes with sprouted wheat berries including Alissa's banana bread and they seem to have a bitter taste. Is there something I might be doing wrong in the sprouting that's causing this? Thanks! Caryn

Are you using soft or hard wheat berries? I believe the hard berries are also called winter berries.
