I've been doing a juice fast for 4 days. I have colitis and I though it would be good to give my colon a good rest. I have been drinking fresh juice and coconut milk. Today my headache finally went away, but I have been really tired the entire time I've been fasting. All I can seem to do is sleep. I had planned on fasting for 7 days, but I can't afford to have any more days where all I can do is sleep. Does any one have any suggestions if I should keep fasting or if I should break my fast because I've been so tired.

I'm not an expert on fasting but you should do what you feel you need to do. Maybe getting some fiber from an orange or an apple, etc..will help push any debri out of your istestines.

You might want to try some roughage. In my experience, it is difficult to do any type of non-solid diet if there is too much impacted fecal matter in the intestines. You should probably go on a high-fiber diet for a couple of weeks before fasting.

Keep drinking the juice, but eat foods throughout the day that have a high percentage of fiber by mass.

I have found that tiredness while fasting is about an impacted colon. (As mentioned.) Once the colon is cleaned out, energy returns. (Big time btw! :) ) Enemas, colonics, herbal laxatives--they'd all help. If you chose not to do that though, things will most likely stay the way they are on your fast. Until the bowels move.

The impacted colon thing makes a lot of sense, especially since I have colitis. Thanks for the info. I ended up ending my fast, and I was doing enimas, but I guess next time I'll have to do more about it.
