I've been sprouting by the book.... You know, bowl of soaking beans/berries, let sit for time listed on the chart, rinse daily, yada, yada, and I still can't seem to get anything to sprout. I split my wheat berries with a friend, and they sprouted just fine for her, so I know they weren't dead! What gives?

Oh man! Have you asked her what she is doing compared to you? I mean it could be something silly like hers are in more light or not in light, or she's using filtered water or I don't know. I'd ask her how she did it...

She is using sprouting trays, which arent's "supposed" to be necessary. I think mine need more sun.

-I've soaked 'em for too long and drowned 'em.
- gave em too much sun and learned to drape 'em with a dishtowel in the early stage to mimic the darkness of soil
-stuck 'em in a cupboard with no ventilation. They now hatch on the counter.
-I now say nice nurturing things to them.
-I bought dish strainers from a thrift store and keep the jars tilted at an angle all of the time to keep them well drained with a towel underneath them.
- Don't play heavy metal for them.
