Hi everyone. My name is Patti...I am 23 and live in Saint Louis, MO. I am so excited because I just hit my tenth day being 100% raw. I know that to many of you, ten days is nothing...but baby steps :) For the past few years I was on again off again vegetarian...I always seemed to cave around Thanksgiving-darn holidays!
But then, even when I was vegie, I still craved bad foods. Since the beginning of this year, when I went vegie I didn't crave any meat or eggs and I could tell this was the start of something good...not to sound cliche. After reading almost everybook under the sun about raw for a year or so, I just did it. I had all the equipment, a supportive husband (he's not raw or vegie or anything like that...he'll eat what I make and actually loves the new raw cuisine thing), four days off during the week to prepare foods and shop, a good kitchen -- what else, besides living somewhere tropical, could set the stage better for going raw?
I really love this way of eating and know it is so tremendously good for our bodies...I just hope that I don't fall off the wagon. It doesn't feel good eating something tasty but so detrimental to our bodies. All you feel is guilt, and being raw there is no guilt--it's fantastic! Staying strong and creative is key for me and I hope raw works out for all of you too!!
