I just got called about a job in Richland, WA. It has not progressed even to an interview, but might as well get as much information as early as possible. Anyone know anything about the area, especially in regards to raw food resources?

Why are you "sure" that it's wet, cold and dreary if you know nothing about the area? Richland is located in Eastern Washington close to Idaho and Oregon. Like most places in Eastern Washington, Richland has very distinct seasons. Very hot summers and very cold winters. Think 90's to over 100 for a good chunk of the summer and snow measured by the foot in the winter. BTW, Seattle isn't wet, cold and dreary either.

Hi Bredelly!

I am originally from the Tri-Cities (Richland, Kennewick and Pasco)! It's actually not wet there ---- it's considered a desert. Despite global warming, the weather there is usually awesome! They hit every season! When its summer it can get VERY hot (but it's dry heat) and when it's winter, it can get real cold and snow. Fall and spring are gorgeous there!

There is a local health store located in Richland and Kennewick. Those stores will most likely be a staple for your raw food lifestyle. There are also many supermarkets that offer organic fruits/veggies and a bulk section. I don't know of a large raw food community in the Tri-cities, but it's never to late to start one! ;)

All in all, I think it's a wonderful place to live!!! It will always be home to me :) In fact, my mom lives in Richland now. It's not too big and it's not too small. I try to go back and visit as much as possible.

Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any questions you may have as I know the area very well!
