Hello all!
I have been reading Victoria Boutenko's book about greens. The one called "Green for Life". How wow! It is so great! I found out some really interesting stuff from it!
First, why do mostly woman (not all woman) on raw food lose hair? Well, one of the symptoms of low stomach acid is hair loss in WOMAN! Not men! Wow! So, since people haven't eaten a lot of raw food, when they switch, they may have a hard time digesting it and deficiencys may arise! So, this is not to say raw food doesn't give you adiquate nutrients. It just means that peoples body's are not used to it so they may get deficiency's. And one of the symptoms of low stomach acid is hair loss in woman. Now do you hear of that many men loosing hair from raw? Yes, some, but mostly woman! I think she is pointing out that green smoothies and blended raw dishes help, and maybe a HCL supplement. So, this is amazing!
What do you think? Do you think there is a link between hair loss from raw food in woman and low stomach acid? There are many other symptoms, like gas after meals, and a few others! When I heard this, I just felt like I read truth! You know when you read or hear somehting and you know that it is truth? Well, that is what I felt when I made this connection between the two!
What do you all think?
Love to all!

That is a great book. I've read it twice now and it inspires me to eat more greens. I am currently reading her other book, "12 Steps to Raw Foods."
I'm not sure about the connection with HCL acid being low in women and causing hair loss. I would think it would be the same for men. Unless the low HCL acid is caused by worry, and we know that most women worry more then men :}

I think David Wolfe talked about increasing your stomach acid by drinking green vegetable juices. I remember hearing something about that on thebestdayever.com

I'm a man, and I lost hair some months after going raw. I don't know how long my hair is now; I brought my measuring tape, but forgot to ask someone to measure my hair, so my official LHC length will be tomorrow. The first is tomorrow anyway.

It makes sense that a higher HCL level would increase absorbtion of nutrients but wouldn't it lead to heartburn and ulcers? There are so many antacids out there, I was under the impression that too much acid was a problem.

I never lost hair. If anything, it grew & it grew like crazy.

Vagina, the doctors commonly diagnose too much acid when in actuality it is too little. I have tried to supplement it with the Braggs ACV as recommended. Must have worked as I have not done it in months.

Hello!
Hmm, this is very ineteresting.
Thank you!
Elle_Murphy, what do you eat? I am just trying to figure out what is going on. Thank you!
luckitri, does ACV (apple cider vinager) make you have higher stomach acid? Cause I drink the stuff (I never get colds especially when I drink it), so maybe I need to look at other things. Thank you!
Thank you everybody!
Love to all!

Yes, last fall I was doing alot of searching when so sick and stomach pain. There were other options as well and no longer remember sources.
Drink before each meal.

luckitri, thank you! How much do you drink before each meal? Like 1-2 tablespoons? In water I am guessing. Thank you again! This is so helpful! How much has this helped your digestion?
Love to all!

This cracked me up when I read that, sorry Christianna, but when I read her book I KNEW I was reading the truth, just like Alissa's. It just makes sense.

I think it is supposed to be 1 or 2 TBLSP. . . . yes in H2o. I have forgotten for long time but this thread has reminded me that the medical intuitive wants me to do it. So thanks!

just wanted to say i am on day two of this self-test for low stomach acid:
http://www.askshelley.com/faq.php?p=default&cat=53#a107
i just finished day 2..two 500 mg pills on an empty stomach..no warmth or discomfort whatsoever after 30 mins. its actually been an hour and still no warmth or discomfort.
low stomach acid can lead to candida..which can lead to leaky gut..which can lead to hormonal allergy and food intolerances/allergies..which can lead to malnutrition and lowered immune..which can lead to staph infections..
and whats one of the main causes of low stomach acid? severe stress and/or eating disorders.
after 2 years the pieces are finally falling into place. thanks so much for this thread and for leading me towards one of the final pieces of the puzzle.

Thank you all!
luckitri, thank you! I will try this!
Veganforlife, huh! Ya, well I knew I REALLY heard truth when I read this! Victoria is so intelligent! She even says in one of her other books to listen to your body, cause if you listened to what everyone told you to eat you would be left with breatharanism! This meaning, everyone or a lot of people tell you to eat certian ways and stay away from certain foods, fruit, kale, nuts, etc...
eatyourbroccoli, I will check out that link! Thank you! It sounds like a test that you are doing...cool! Wow, candida, malnutrition........from low stomach acid? Woo! This is so great to find all this stuff out. I guess we all need to relax a little and let the stress bug be released! Thank you!
Love to all!
