ive been using the basic oil + vinegar + herb dressing forever and feel like im saturated with oil ( and also that oil isnt realy natural eating , its a very concentrated extract we'd never have aten that much of originally ) , so im looking for no oil dressings . i appreciate your replies .
good day :)
Hi Michigan
Any combination of fruits and veggies blended make an excellent dressing.
Add herbs too if you like.
I like tomato, celery, lemon & corriander (cilantro) with a little water.
I also love carrot and corriander.
Its good to get a combination of sweet bitter sour spicy and salty in varying degrees depending on your taste.
You cant go wrong, if you dont like the taste, add something else!
Adding ground nuts and seeds also varies the experience
Have fun, happy blending!

avocado with lemon juice (mush until creamy)
tahini with orange juice (mix until creamy)
those are my two basic ones. im sure you could use either as a base and add herbs/spices/sea salt to vary the flavors

My favortie green salad is a very simple one...
Organic baby spinach leaves and fresh squeezed OJ.
You'll be amazed at how awesome the combo is.
OJ has the perfect sweet/acid taste, so no vinegar or sugar is needed, and no oil makes it very clean-tasting.
If I'm in the mood, some fresh or raw dried cranberries really hit the tart spot for another flavor element.

If you want a creamy dressing, you can try using soaked cashews or a spoon full of nut butter in orange juice or pinapple juice. When blended it is really nice. You can do this with avocado too, but I think this was already posted.

Here are 2 dressings we've recently come up with:
Green Raw Goddess Dressing
1 or 2 tbs olive oil (opt)
2 tbs tahini
2 tbs lemon or lime, juice
nama shoyu, Braggs or sea salt
2 garlic cloves
1/2 small avocado
1 cup parsley (packed)
1/4 fresh dill (packed)
1 green onion
1/2 cup water (or more)
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Add more water until the desired consistency is reached.
This dressing will thicken as it sits, so you may need to add more water later.
Don's Creamy Citrus-Herb Dressing
½ avocado
1 sm. orange
2 cloves garlic
1 tbs olive oil (opt)
½ large lemon, juiced (or to taste)
½ large lime, juiced (or to taste)
1 tbs tahini
1 tsp sweetener
Handful fresh parsley and/or cilantro
Dill or dried herbs of choice
Salt, Braggs or tamari (to taste)
⅓ cup water (or more)
Blend until smooth. Add water until desired consistency is reached.
Yields approx. 2 cups
