View Full Version : For those of you who have wanted to know more about Alissa's 5-day course!

Okay, a bunch of you have asked the other teachers (I did too!), so I am going to do my best to try to put some of it all into words for you to help you get a better understanding of Alissa’s 5-day course.

First of all, I’m not getting paid to do this, so don’t think it is a paid advertisement. It’s not. And it’s not me sucking up either. I am speaking from the heart here.

I’m also not going to go into GREAT detail either. If Alissa ever needs a booklet to promote the class, I would do the long version for something like that, but there’s just so much that I’ll try to keep it semi-brief.

A lot of you have seen the saying “It’s all about the food, and it’s not about the food”. Well, it’s true. I went to Alissa’s class to eat some great food; ready to be taught how to be a Teacher for Living on Live Foods, and get some guidance for what to do when I’m ready to open up my retreat. What I got instead was that, and a life transformation to boot!

First, for those who say the cost of the class is too high, I would have paid the tuition for the class just to be in the presence of Alissa and Elaine. They are such women of presence. Alissa is so open and giving of herself and you can’t help but feel her warmth and love. She radiates love and warmth and beauty and truly wants each teacher to be successful and share in her success. Elaine is this amazing woman who literally will help change your life in an instant if you are open to her help, knowledge, and wisdom. And she does it all by helping you to unlock what is already inside of you. Amazing! She is kind, compassionate, beautiful, and loving

I went there open to whatever was going to be sent my way. I got so much more than I expected. From great food, amazing new friends, a whole new extended family; to healing my spirit from my past, new vision, new focus (something that I’d struggled with all of my life), and a plan that helps me to live out my true path and calling in life.

When teachers in the past have said that you have to experience it for yourself, there is a reason for it. Each person experiences what he/she is open to experience. For me, it was healing within my spirit, learning my value, learning my beauty, making my future path much clearer, learning I am deserving, and many other things. Plus learning how to be a Living on Live Foods Teacher. To you, it could be anything. I will tell you that it would be just what you need, just when you need it. Be it help, healing, hope, or all of those and more.

I now have an extended family of 31 people. Everything that I learned and experienced was worth at least triple the cost of the class. Something I would have found a way to pay if I had to, and that is saying A LOT! Everyone who even thinks they want to take this class, should just TAKE IT! The money is really not a lot for what you get! For what you get from this class, they are practically giving it away!

I don’t know how much detail ya’ll wanted. If you need to hear more, let me know. I’m more than happy to share. But remember, it is all MY experience. Yours will be different than mine because I am me and you are you. And I really feel that’s how it should be. No one wants a carbon copy life. Alissa’s training is not a carbon copy experience. And I for one am truly grateful for that!

Hope this was helpful for those who needed to know more. It really will change your life! Just do it!

It doesn't even exactly say on the site how much it costs, but I was wondering. I know just because I know that this is not going to change for me, and I really like the approach Alissa has taken to raw. I had so many questions and less but some doubts when I started, but it's all making so much sense. I think that I could do some fun catering and classes if I stay where I am, but what if I didn't?

Have you already been able to use the information outside of your own home? Is some of the time spent on how to do that? Did you go to her bed and breakfast place to have the classes? Did you stay there or at a hotel somewhere?

I have really, really thought about doing this, but I just don't know if I could really afford to spend however much money it is, I imagine at least $2500 or so? That's just a ton of moolah!

In any case, it has made me think again about if this is something I want to do.

Awesome - I had no idea it was such a personally transforming experience. I figured it was just uncooking. However, on the topic of such...how do you feel about your preparation skills now? I would love a little more detail on that aspect.

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time! You have made me want to go!!

EvaRB you are asking interesting questions, I too would love to know.

Yes the more I read about her certifications the more I feel this is what I need. I would love to take those classes, I definitely need a life changing experience!!!

Maybe I'll see you there Eva :D

I really would like to take the course, but finding the time is my real issue, not cost.

I thought I was going to be able to take the one day first course, but the instructor never followed through.

*sigh*

This sounds so awesome! I am totally going to try to put aside the time and money to accomplish this.......

BUT.....I have a really stupid question....just because the info pages on the site isn't giving me as much as I hoped........is this a certification course? Do you come away with one or all of the certifications?

Thanks for the insight!!!!!

Okay, I'm going to answer in newest to oldest post cause that's easier for me.

JGex - I know what you mean about time. I really do feel this is one of those things that if it's important to you, you find a way. We had someone who was supposed to be in another place, but made the choice to be there. It really is all about choice.

Migrou & EvaRB - Since you both have similar questions, I'll answer the two of you together. The cost is $2275. However, it is WORTH more than triple the price! I'm not just saying that. Elaine's portion alone, to learn somewhere else, would cost somewhere around $6,000 easy! So again, it's all about choice. I was supposed to use our tax refund to help get us out of debt and make sure we had money to pay for our upcoming move. I chose to use the money for this class and my drive there and visiting with friends and my hotel stay. That was my choice. And guess what?! We'll still be ending up out of debt because of all I learned while I was there. And the money ended up being there for my move this Sunday after all! And Alissa really does show you just how easy it can be! All of it! I think where people might run into trouble is when they try to make it harder than it really is. Oh, and Eva, as far as if you didn't stay where you are or moved, I'm a military spouse. So moving for us is usually a given. And I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I can do this absolutely ANYWHERE!

And yes, the classes were held at the bed and breakfast (it's SO beautiful!) and I stayed at a hotel with my wonderful roommate!

As far as have I been able to use it outside of my home. I just got back into town on Wednesday. I am giving a 30 minute raw food talk at the local health food store this Saturday as part of their 25 year Anniversary celebration. I was also there yesterday getting some salads for the family and was talking to my friend that works there when another customer came up and started talking about the diet she's on and how she can't have certain foods cause they are acidic. So I asked her if they needed to be acid or alkaline once in her system, and so we started talking about everything and she'll be either signing up for a class or a private consultation. She hasn't decided which yet, but her eyes lit up for both, so I'm confident it will happen. So less than a week back and I've already got things lined up and my website is up and I'm listed on Alissa's teacher page. So yes, I'm already doing something with it! And yes, they cover how to grow your business.

Vegan Princess - Hey! I love your name (Vegan Princess)! It's so pretty! As far as how I feel about my preparation skills now? Let me just put it to you this way. Without giving away the trade secrets, while I was there, I made two lists. The first one was kinda short (only about 5 things). That night, I made a new list that was longer (11 items), and was hesitant to put on item number 12. I was worried it may be taken the wrong way. That morning I went ahead and put on number 12, which was "Conquer the World!". I am so confident in my skills now, that number 12 will happen, it's a non-issue! Hope that answers your question.

Luna99 - Happy and elated can't even begin to describe how glad I am that I went! It was March 22-26th.

Girlsmiley - I am SO THRILLED FOR YOU! You will thoroughly enjoy it!

Hope this helps you! Just as a side note. Tomorrow morning they come to disconnect my internet for the move, and the new place we are moving to, they can't get our internet up until April 3rd. So if I don't respond until then, please be patient. I will answer your questions when I get reconnected. But please also note, that I will NOT give away the trade secrets of the class itself. It would be a disservice to both Alissa and Elaine, and I would never want to do that. And again, your experience will be yours, and could be very different from mine, because you are your own unique person.

Shine,

I sincerely appreciate your post - it radiates with enthusiasm for the self-discovery you explored and the generous and loving nature of Alissa and Elaine. As you say, this FEELS like it is about more than preparing uncooked food. You were invited to awaken many senses indeed and sounds like you allowed some profound changes to begin. Just look at your energy! A public presentation, your family responsibilities AND moving within days of each other. What a testimony for the benefits of the raw lifestyle.

Regarding the tuition cost, I am reminded of moments when I've been down to a few bucks and have been most willing to exchange it for something I want to experience. It's like an energy that is everflowing and when there is a strong desire to do something, go somewhere, the funds show up. I loved reading about how this manifested for you in the moving requirements.

My personal story involves Maine and some healing I would like to address. Now....Wouldn't it be cool!

Thanks again for sharing your personal account of this class. I also admire your genuine integrity of not telling secrets out of school ;) That virtue will serve you well in your own business and personal ventures.

With sincere appreciation,
RC (aka Jean)

Hi all! This will be my last post until April 3rd or so. My dh is disconnecting the computer this morning! Yay! We're one step closer to moving!

Jean - Thank you so much! Your post was eloquent and right on the money! (No pun intended). For me personally, I did a lot of healing while I was there. It was just a matter of having tools that I didn't have before and being able to break things down. Elaine is a master of these things! I hope you find what you need! As a side note, Maryland is where I spent a day and a half on my way up to Maine and a night on my way back (I drove). Maybe we'll get to meet someday on my further adventures up there!

I'll be back on after we get reconnected! I'm so excited! A new day is dawning and it's beautiful to behold!

Bowie - thanks for the bump.

One thing I wanted to add that I think I forgot to add before. Don't think that you just go to the class and then that's it. Alissa and Elaine are there for you from that point forward. It doesn't mean that they are going to do the work for you. That is up to you. But it does mean you have their continued support through whatever you choose to do. It does mean if you stumble and need their help, they are there for you. And they REALLY do care about your success! Sometimes I swear Elaine gets more excited for me than I do for myself, which is REALLY saying something, cause I'm an excited kind of gal!

So really, if you even have an inkling to go, go! You won't be sorry you did!

I just wanted to echo shine72's assessment of the class. I just returned from the May class this week, and I felt all the very same things she mentioned!

It was more than I expected, it was better than I had hoped, and it was definitely a powerful point of transformation for me -- thanks to two beautiful, inspiring women -- Alissa and Elaine.
The other class participants (my new raw family) were so wonderful and I learned more than simply how to prepare and talk about raw food.

I also am reticent to give away too many details... it'd be too much like spoiling the ending of a really good movie. I think it was good that I didn't go in with too many expectations, and didn't really know exactly what all the hubbub was about... it allowed me to fully embrace the experience and get what I needed to get out of it.

The cost can seem prohibitive, I know. My husband and I had to really talk about how the financial aspect of taking the class would impact us. I have to say that I'm so glad I didn't let that dissuade me. It was worth every penny, and then some. How much would you pay for the spark to live your dreams? :)

I know it sounds like gushing... but, let us know how YOU feel once you've had the experience. I'm betting it'll be about the same. :D

Suzy

:I haven't really had much time to join in the forums, which is really sad because there is so much great information and such wonderful people here. I'm hoping this new change in my life (thanks to Alissa and Elaine) will allow me to spend a little more time!: :)

Suzy - I am SO happy for you! That is SO awesome that you were able to go! And once you're there, the cost? What cost? It's like "I would've paid triple had I known it was going to be all of THIS!" Never mind the feeling of you having been given a beautiful, precious, priceless gift by the time you leave!

I'm so glad you got to experience that! I really feel everyone should! (Or at least those that really want to have everything they dreamed of anyway!);)

Shine, thank you for this thread. For some reason I never saw it before today. Rawjojo and Carmel also gave wonderful reviews of the course.

Talking about the support you receive afterward, please comment on the forum just for teachers. Alissa had it on her site, haven't checked to see if it's still there. It might be encouraging to others to hear your .... maybe appreciation .... for it. Have you benifited from that aspect?

Hi Teri,

I'm sorry it took me so long to answer this (although it was actually addressed to Shine)... I'm still finding it tough to make time to post and read posts. :o

So, here is what I think about the Teacher Boards:
YEA! I'm SO glad this support system is in place! When I HAVE had time, I've perused that board and learned some amazing stuff from the LOLF teachers there -- everything from making the foods to building a business. When I do have time now, it's the first place I visit.

If I could change one thing about it, it would be to visit every one of my classmates, walk them to their computers, get them logged in, and get them committed to posting at least once a week! hahaha

My two cents. :)

And Doe, if you're still here, I swear I didn't see your question until just now.

Yes, I do find the teacher forum VERY helpful. I just wish, same as Suzy, that my classmates/family would post more often. Cause I miss 'em terribly!:D

Hope this helps anyone who need it!:D

Thanks for bumping as I had not seen this thread yet! I would love to take the class too. The difficult factor for me is what to do with the two children. I have no outside family support network here so it would be tricky but I shall put on my thinking cap and try to come up with a solution. I think this is a good time to emply some of the recommendations from "The Secret"!

Thanks again-

EPPP - Is there any way your hubby could work it where he takes some time off during the time of the certification? I got EXTREMELY lucky and dh was off on leave while I went to mine. Cause there was no one else that could've helped us out at that time. If your kids knew me, I'd say bring 'em here. Then again, if you did that lay-over stop here like I suggested, then they would!;) :D
