I was surfing around on Storm and Jinjee's site and found this great recipe for raw tabouli.

I dont have the money to afford a dehydrator now, and 2 of the books i purchased on Amazon (before i discovered Alissa) most of the recipes require a dehydrator which is really frustrating.

I made their recipe with Raw Agave Nectar instead of Honey and did not add oil.

RAWSOME!!!

Storm's Raw Tabouli! (Our special staple "green stuff" recipe):

* one bunch cilantro
* one bunch parsley
* one bunch green onions
* two tomatoes
* one avocado
* half a cup of raw almonds
* cold-pressed olive oil
* unrefined sea salt
* raw honey
* half a lemon

Chop up cilantro, parsley, green onions, avocados and tomatoes in a bowl. Blend almonds to a fine flour in blender and add to bowl. Add the juice of half a lemon, a tablespoon of olive oil, a tablespoon of honey, and a teaspoon of salt. Change it up each time by adding a different vegetable/herb like corn, broccoli, or fresh basil, or a different spice like Italian or Mexican seasonings. Serves 3.

I love it as well, and have also modified it and reduced the oil, because there's already nuts and avocadoes in there. It's definately one of the tastiest zestiest salads I've had! Delicious spread on a red pepper boat or wrapped in a lettuce leaf.

what i cant get over is on how filling this is!!!

Since I'm still quite new to raw... but defnitely the instincts take over and say "no youre not!"..... Discovering a new Raw recipe for me is like eating Candy... er... well it is eating Candy!!! ;)

All right, I would not have believed how good this was if someone described it to me, but WOW! It is indescribably SO good!

I will say that I changed it up quite a bit for my liking, and because I had lots of good stuff but no parsley (I know, the number one ingredient, but what was I to do?!)

I ended up upping the olive oil, but didn't put the almonds yet as everything is marinating together. I'll do that last. I had thyme, mint, basil and cilantro. I put lots of basil and cilantro, less thyme and mint. I exchanged green onions for shallots and added corn and lots of mushrooms. I also used agave nectar instead of honey; all else was the same. Ah, and I forgot the lemon. I may add that right now. I think we will eat this over a bed of kale for dinner...

I took a few bites of what it is already. Did I mention WOW?! :)

Using hempseeds gives the exact same textureas the real deal. So much so that i would never try it with almonds. they don't get soggy either!
I have made it using a recipe from one of my books...YUM!

This was very good :) Easy to make, too.

I think I will try it using sprouted quinoa. I would use hemp seeds but quinoa is much much cheaper! So I might do quinoa with a bit of hemp seeds. My sprouter's full at the moment though :rolleyes:

It's one of my favourites too, but I always use basil instead of coriander as I don't like the latter, and adore basil.

If I don't have the ingredients, I'll follow the recipe using carrot instead of greens and big onions instead of spring. Which results in a totally different thing, but is nice.
