Well hope to learn new stuff from you already raw eaters and the people like me that are still unhealthy in there food choices.I hope to get my act togther and find good healthy foods when I am struggling with money beacuse it looks like the good stuff is $$$$$$ pricey:mad: ...

Its only pricey if you make it that way. You don't ever have to make any recipes or any smoothies. You can just eat raw fruits and vegetables and it can be very inexpensive. Welcome!

Oh yeah, Vitamix and Excalibur are what many of us dream of - so yeah - a good start.

Hi and welcome! I can relate to so much of what you are saying about yourself. You've come to the right place to get healthy. there is so much info on this board!

the price of healthy food scared me at first too and it IS more expensive, in my experience. BUT, I have not been sick AT ALL since eating high raw (about 98%...I only eat a non-raw salad dressing and an occasional cooked meal with my family). So I've saved on medical bills, not using my time off work, and on medicines...besides the fact that I feel great. Maybe just start out buying only what you need for certain recipes and you can build up your "raw pantry" that way.

Best wishes!

You're on the right path. I'd so recommend spending the money for Alissa's book when you can. It will make everything make sense and explain how to go about living like this, but we're here to support you on this board. Lots and lots of us were seriously junkfood junkies before in recovery, so you're not alone on that. I've been practicing since last summer to be Raw, and I'm pretty much there and it's such a blessing. My best advice is to keep checking back on this board as you progress with implementing Raw eating into your life. Love, Stina from Florence, Oregon

Oh, I know what it's like to have a junk food addiction. I *heart* chocolate, and so trying to get that out of my thoughts and system... not easy. But know that if you stick to it, the end result will be so much better and your body will be sooo happy with you!

Yay! Another nursing mommy who wants to go raw! I'm basically in the same position as you. I eat horribly right now!

How old is your baby? My son is 1, but I believe in extended nursing. So he will be nursing for a while longer.

I just ordered Alissa's book. I'm going to the health food store Saturday to get started! The nearest one is 1.5 hours away from here.

We should be raw buddies!
