Husband ask for our suppers to be all raw.

As you may know, I've been 99% raw for over 3 years and my kids eat about 75% raw. But, he may eat 10% raw.

Last night I showed him a article which may have explained a symptom our adopted daughters have had since we've had them (3years). It was Celiac Disease. My goal was to merely get them off all wheat. I was and am still shocked that he came back after reading the article, saying something about doing Supper all raw. (That's the only meal he shares with us.) Normally the kids breakfast and lunch are 80% raw already. He had two conditions. One being, nothing can be mixed together (as in nutloaf). He wants to be able to recognize what he is eating. I forgot the other condition, as I really am still in shock.

I know this is good news, but I'm at a loss as to what to make for supper. This is weird. I finally conceded to him, gave in, quit trying to get the kids all raw, as it is impossible in this household with the Papa eating every SAD thing in sight. So now, where do I start. I feel so inadequete. Like I said, "this is weird". I think his other condition was. . . only raw as supper! Meaning, he got to eat as much junk away from home as he wanted. Hey, it is a start!

So, help me figure out what to feed my family besides big salads, we do that anyway.

Thanks for listening. I know it has been a while since I've posted, I've kind of been in limbo for a while, yet, eating mostly raw. :D

You can make simple wraps with different chunky salsas (tropical is good), beet or coleslaws, fruit skewers! Does he eat portabellas? You can make one topped with mashed avocado and topped with chopped tomato & nama shoyu. I like my shoyu sweetened a bit and my mushroom on a platter of baby spinach with a little shredded carrot, cabbage & bean sprouts!

That is great. My husband is the same way, he will eat raw as long as their are no raw pizzas, burgers, nutloaves, etc. He does not like the mixed, dehydrated stuff or the pates, etc. He likes plain fruit, salads and fresh types of foods.

I once made an awesome salad while we were at my mothers. It had mixed baby greens, sliced pears, sliced dried apricots, I think there were some raisins or currents, a chopped mango, and then my mother had some strawberry balsamic vinegar and olive oil and I tossed it with that. He said it was the best salad I ever made. I have had salads with fruit in it, but never really made it myself, but it was quite tasty. Plus with the fruit in there, you really don't need to overseason everything.

Wow this is big news! What about Rawvolutions Raw taco meat recipe or the refried beans recipe on this site? They are both filling. I also like vegetarian nori rolls with all the goodies inside. Do a search with the banana and you will find the recipes if interested.

Would he go for the zucchini spaghetti, or angel hair, and Marinara sauce?

Thanks for the great ideas and kudos!

So far so good. One night was waldrof salad and the next broccoli/carrot salad. But, I am leaving him in quite a bind, I'll be gone for the next 4 days. And he really doesn't have a clue how to "uncook". I hope to get some things together tomorrow for him, even if it is only on paper. I went produce shopping today for him, the kids, and stuff to take for me. Sure wish the world catered to people like us who eat so simply.

Thanks again. And if inspired, keep the ideas coming. :)

I'm not a big menu person. So no advice there!

But whoa!!! It is amazing your family is going all RAW! I can feel the vibrant health they'll be growing from here! :D

Someone here posted a recipe for Aubergine-bacon. I´ve tryed it and it is really GOOD!

Make thin slices of aubergine with a potatopeeler (It has to be that thin)
Soak in oliveoil, umeboshivinegar, honey, canyennepepper and a bit of nama shouyo for 2 hours. (or just olive oil and some salt)

Dip the slices in nutritional yeast-flakes

Dehydrate until they are as crispy as you want them.

Good luck!
