to have a 'big' belly while eating raw fruits and veggies? I feel like my stomach is so big after eating. I don't eat any overt fats, so I eat a lot of fruits and veggies (all properly combined). I know that I'm not bloated, but my stomach looks so big most of the time. I don't know what to do. I know it's not fat, but I feel like it is...any thoughts? Thanks! Have a lovely day everyone!

-Sounds normal to me. Just eat simpler.......smaller meals...more often.....and this should help eliminate this bloated feeling. And you are certainly correct that good food combining and/or mono-eating also goes a long way to eliminate excess gas and bloating. Just my opinons.

Misslinda - Good question...sorry I didn't clarify - It isn't a gassy, bloated or painful stomach. But it does look extended or big - just from the sheer volume that I eat.

I know I'm not fat, but I just feel it after eating a meal. It's hard because I like to eat only two meals a day. Lots of bananas in the A.M. then some bananas and a salad in the P.M. I guess the big stomach goes away after a few hours, but it still makes me look fat : (

is normally only the size of your fist. That's the mx volume you should eat at once. Actually, it's ideal to eat aa little less so there's rom for the digestive juices to work.

Of course you can eat ALOT more, and your stomach will stretch to accomodate, but that's not exactly ideal.

There was some interesting info in one of Victoria Boutenko's book, I think in Green for Life about this. It was saying if there was a particle of food bigger than 2mm, some kind of cell in our digestive system would surround it and then clump to the walls of the intestinal tract, giving people a pot belly. I probably didn't properly convey that info, but I'm aware that I need to be chewing my food extremely thoroughly and slowly.

I think I know what you are talking about. Do you think that by just eating two meals a day, it makes your stomach get "excited" and appears like a crater vs a balloon? If you have underdeveloped stomach muscles, the top layers of the "stomach" can look a little disintended..........

I really think it's an acid thing.....with the "look" of big ya know what I mean?

That doesn't sound plausible. 2 mm is bigger than any human cell, including an egg. I have heard, though, that if a particle is bigger than a certain size, it will stay in the stomach, then some time in the madrugada, the pylorus opens and lets the apple seeds and such things through. 2 mm might be that size limit.

Um, I wish I had the book handy to quote from it. It would be a good reference for my personal library. time to pass along those macrobiotic books. Do you have a background in science? sounds like you have a good grasp on it

This is funny, I was just reading someone's blog, who is a huge fruit eater, describe that at night she has a "fruit belly" which she loves because by the morning it goes down again. She mentioned that she looks a few months pregnant but she knows this belly won't stick around very long because all the water and fruit goes through quickly.

Wow! So we will be bloated forever if we want to eat mostly fruit and we don't eat less than a fist full???? It seems like I'd be eating every 20 minutes then..........eating has become so complicated........:(

I was just looking around for posts about big stomachs after eating, and i have to say that i eat very healthy, but i seem to eat alot, alot during the day but especially breakfast and dinner i eat a lot, and i can eat alot before feeling too full. but even if i eat only an apple, or sometimes it seems only drink water or something my stomach is always big. not bloated, not gassy, but when i touch it its hard, its not fat, its hard like my stomach is just so far out. its always been that way for as long as i can remember.but then i guess i see some people that eat alot too and after they eat their stomachs dont look big. i dont know i was just wondering why it does that. :(
