I saw raw food articles in at east two mainstream mags this last month...

Alternative medicine
On Fitness

Plus, a mention in a CAm journal, and an article on Dr. NIcholas Gonzalez

I think there was another, but my memory fails....

I went to see a demo by Karyn Calabrese, one of the first raw foodists (30years), and the first raw food restauranteur around here. She looks like she's about 30, but she's 60! A little thin, but good gravy, how healthy and energetic. And looking amazing w/ no plastic surgery.

I guess next month she's gonna be in MORE magazine which is super mainstream...kinda like Redbook, or O.

The raw food demo, by the way, filled up to standing room only levels.

Exciting times...

raw is exploding. natural alternatives are exploding. i keep trying to convince my mom to go through with opening an all-natural and organic petfood store that also stocks and sells freezers full of raw dog food; this is one of her dreams, and shes just been waiting for the "right time." i keep screaming "NOW! NOW! in 5 years theyll be everywhere!" :)

im convinced it has everything to do with our (us dietary progressives..along even with cooked vegans, macrobiotics, etc..) positive attestments to the power of REAL food reverberating throughout the collective unconcious..

i KNOW the raw / vegan tidal wave is coming , its undeniably the best way to fuel our cells / bodies ! and vegan is how a high life form exists . and those whom dont behave in said manner shall be dwarfed / depowered by raw / veganisms adherents . then we'll turn this planet into a civilized place / garden with human creatures as its maintenance workers , and not its butchers .

The more people who learn about raw food and veganism, the better.

I think the Raw word is spreading.

We have Cilantro Live in San Diego that is opening their 4th restaurant next month.

For those in the area here are the locations: Carlsbad, Lemon Grove, Chula Vista, and Hillcrest should be opening by May.

In addition to healh benefits the upside is that with increased demand hopefully a more competitive market and lower priced items will emerge.

But with the governments level of tampering and Corp. GREED, I wonder if we will need to be even greater watch dogs so as to avoid all the modifications placed on real foods.

I've even been made aware of a high school campus that porhibited lunch time departures off campus because there cafeteria couldn't compete with off campus offerings.

Yes we are on the cusp of something big for sure. Eventually we get to be sage oldtime raw gurus! Ha Ha.

But many challenges ahead. New thread about raw almonds never to be anymore and requesting that we take action. We need to be vigilant and political and make our voices heard in order to protect our food supply.

Hi Everyone,

I can't tell you how many people here in the preppie colony stop and ask about my raw lifestyle.

Just last night a guy came up to me and said his co-worker was on raw and feeling great.

I told him to have her give me a call if she needed some help.

This guy is a real tri-athlete dude who understands fitness and nutrition.

Yes raw is too cool.

Peace,

M.B.

I had a lecture I attended Friday evening and met with the lecturer afterwards and we were discussing my raw lifestyle. She came down from NY. She was very impressed, however claimed she could never do it as she's on the road a lot. I didn't get into it with her that yes she could, but I guarantee she will remember me.
Saturday met a second lecturer from Britain and as amazed as he was about my eating style, he was proud to announce he was just the opposite. Guarantee he'll remember me also.
The word IS getting out there and it's cool that we are ahead of the mad rush.
I still say we need to get Alissa on Oprah's show. Don't you think?

if you just take a look at some tv shows you'll see it's raw/organic/natural lifestyles are really "heating up" so to speak.

on the discovery health channel there are quite a few shows about living organic, including my personal favorite the Dan Ho show....

I know food network won't be too far behind.

it really is just the beginning though and there are so many places we can all take this to! It's so exciting!! We have to lift each other up and support each others efforts and be the example of the world we wish to live in!

Raw foods, vegan, organic, fair trade..

Here, in Sweden, the organic/fair-trade trend is really bursting. Just last week my sister bought me some fair trade/organic cotton underwear from h&m!!! I was amazed...

In my local stores the fruits and veg sections are so much better now, I keep finding things I've never seen or tasted, and that's a great sign!

I just read an article on how they're gonna make tavel by train a lot cheaper and less complicated, because people are getting more aware on how flying is causing so much damage..

I'm lookig forward to my Uk visit in a few weeks. I've always loved the way the Bach remedies are avaliable in Boots and Waitrose, and how there are so many great vegan, organic and better-for-you alternatives..
