I just switched to distilled water this week because I found out our well water is VERY acidic and figured distilled was neutral therefore it would be better. I just read this:
"Distilled water is an active absorber and when it comes into contact with air, it absorbs carbon dioxide, making it acidic. The more distilled water a person drinks, the higher the body acidity becomes. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, "Distilled water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon dioxide from the air is rapidly absorbed, making the water acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are dissolved by distilled water."
I feel trapped. So now distilled can become acidic? Seems like nothing is safe to me. Is spring water acidic? Help?? Dr. Bragg fasting on only distilled water and was fine so...I'm getting mixed messages now. What's your opinion or experience?

i gave up on the water war awhile back, and settled for triple-filtered spring i get from my HFS in a huge refillable water jug. is it truly better than tap water? probably. is it flawless? i think it is; mind over matter.
i stay away from tap, except to brush my teeth. i have a filter on my shower.
maybe someday ill be able to afford a reverse osmosis machine. until then,. i sometimes think over-stressing about the toxins everywhere is more dangerous to my health than the toxins themselves.

in my logic i wish i had well water , pure from the ground that has only run the hundred feet or so through your pipes . as opposed to something bottled in possibly toxic plastic and that has run through equipment . or tap water that has ran through miles of pipe and been treated . i think your water situation is great . natural ground water like we evolved on = your well = perfect .

I had always heard distilled was the best. I drink reverse osmosis and I know there are still chemicals in it. I recently bought a shower filter because apparently they are using recycled water now and have added more chlorine.
I feel we just can't win this fight. It can be overwhelming the more we learn about all the toxins out there. All we can do is our best to make our environment as healthy as possible.

I too have questioned which water I should be drinking. I mix it up! I drink some distilled and some spring water.

I have personally found Miracule Water to work the best for me (check out my signature below). I have owned 2 distillers, a John Ellis Machine, 3 reverse osmosis, 5 water ionizers (3xJupiter, GoldFox, KYK), Wellness Water, Pi Water, A vitalizer and a few others. I have also tried dozens of clustering water concentrates and just about every "pure" spring water available (check out www. aquamaestro.com) . I feel so much more energized and alive with Miracule compared to all the others. Of course, this is what works for me.
My favorite spring waters are nariwa, via natural, daggio, voss, iceland springs. Fiji is also ok. I have found a good spring water works better than most water processors..except miracule. I give the John Ellis Machine an honorable mention. If you want distilled, that is the best distilled I have had.
Peace and good look on your quest for the best water.

Thanks. I've tried just ditilled this week. I'll try just spring water next week. Then my well water again the week after to see if I have any changes. Maybe I'll switch it every two weeks instead.

on spring water i believe most people are buying it in plastic bottles .
so the water might start out clean but i worry about what the plastic seeps into it . sitting in a plastic bottle for weeks / months . i'll go with the well water .

Good point. Again, we'll never win unless we live hear a fresh spring or stream where we could get our own water....then again there are bacteria, feces, etc. in those lol...we'll never win! I'm jus trying to figure out the lesser of the evils.

Use a brita for well water, reverse osmosis is really good enough, you can add minerals and a tiny salt to your water.;)

After extensive research on safer options for water I decided on distilled. I've been drinking only distilled water for a couple of years now with no ill effects, same thing goes for my partner and all my pets. My plants also seem to be thriving on distilled water. Since I eat so much fruit, I rarely get thirsty enough to drink much water anymore anyway. I think we are meant to get most of our liquid from our food.
Where did you read that?

Um I googled it. I was thinking of putting the link, but I was at work and got rushed. I know reading only once source isn't the best thing to do, that's why I came here for other's opinions. Distilled is so yummy lol. At least to me. I feel cleaner on it.

I drink distilled and I do the following.
I add about 6 wheatberries to the finished jug as, according to The Sproutman, that helps to remineralise it.
I sit it in the window for an afternoon to reenergise it.
I have a little copper coil attached to the jug that contains water that has been treated in some way that is supposed to remind the water that it is near how it is to behave. I will try to find more info on google but I got from a person that I thrust and that is knowledgeable. It is based on the same principal as aromatherapy ie. water has a memory.
I am happy with my choice.

I found a VERY nice distiller at a yard sale for $5 last summer.
This is the THIRD one I've found.
They usually run around $200.
People buy them, then don't use them.
I love it. It's easy and makes 1 gallon overnight.
In the winter, it heats up my house.
In the summer, I run it outside.
I know distilled water takes out important "stuff" but the alternative is tap water which has poison it it and I'm sure I get enough good 'stuff' from the raw foods I eat.
Anyway.. go to yard sales in good neighborhoods.. or put an ad on craigslist that you're looking for one and manifest it! :p

Member Rawfoodforever who will be a guest speaker at Raw Spirit Festival has a distiller machine he sells.
Myself, I alternate. When fasting, I alternate Penta and VOSS/distilled. I just wish Penta was offered in glass instead but I've had nothing but incredible results from Penta water.
ON regular consumption, Penta and Voss...........if I am lazy, I will buy distilled and mineralize with a little lemon juice and sunlight:)

Distilled will suck the chemicals out of a plastic bottle because it is trying to grab nutrients.

I bought a distiller years ago. Don't worry about all of the hype. Just don't drink tap and most well water isn't safe anymore either. There is alot of tobacco farming near us which they spray the life out of so I don't trust our well water because of the run-off.

I like it. At my store we sell cases at a time. It goes fast! There has to be something about it people like. Haha, before I really knew of it I just saw the bottles and the oxygen or water molecules, whatever they are, looked like blueberries to me or something.

I swear this Penta company should send me a free case for all the people that I have referred :D
Penta is reverse osmosis water, if I recall 15-20 layer purification process that is patented. The water clusters are broken down so that hydration is more efficient and effective.
The inventor is some physics/engineer/brainiac .........the first reason I became attracted to Penta is in 2002 approx after being bed ridden for so long, I accidentally found the website. I was reading about professional world class athletes and their results. Amateurs and a few celebrities were drinking it. I decided to test it..... At that time I was a long distance runner......regained some health which attributed to restoring my health.
My running mile time was oh 7 minutes and mileage was 6-8 miles and if I struggled, it was 8 ish some miles.
After a month, I noticed I was running 9-10 miles without struggling and decreased my mile time to solid 6.5
Kept drinking penta and reached 15 plus miles....I catch my second wind after couple miles! I ran in the rain, snow, heat etc 6 days a week. At fifteen miles, I was even more energized!!!! Mile time was at 5.5 mph.
If I am dehydrated, Penta hydates me within 1/2 hr. I feel alive and hydated. Taste is clear and clean. In the past, if I ate too much salt, Penta flushes me effectively. I use it on my face too at times~
I know Solace and gang :o , the dioxin in plastic is not healthy but I watched the "cleaning" people at the distiller machines and UGH........let's just say the rag that is used is not clean. I watched one guy look around and barley wipe and left.
I really should invest in a machine but I am happy with Penta and Voss. Until a distiller sells me, I am happy paying $3/bottle.

One Comment about Distilled... Make Sure you distill good water.. Why? Because it is near impossible to remove the volatiles and even if you do, you still get a homepathic potentiation of all the junk.
The Healthiest person I know, Peter Ragnar, distills pristine mountain well water dug 200 feet through quartz crystal. People have asked Peter why he does not drink this amazing well water... Simple, all the inorganic minerals. Then he puts it on magnets, blesses it and adds williard concentrate.
Personally I have owned three distillers and have done experiments distilling tap water versus various spring waters and other purified waters like RO. I found a very definite difference in the taste, smell and quality and I would say that the distilled spring waters faired best for me.
But for me energetically, I like the miracule the best though i know it is out of reach for most people price-wise.
I also like penta, and voss along with a few other spring waters that are "low" tds (classified as pure) that i mentioned in my earlier post.
Miss Linda, I actually drank nothing but Penta for two years so I do agree it is a great water despite the plastic. I also like the oxygenated distilled from Canada.
Peace,
Bryant
