Any raw food restaurant in Paris? Any Farmers' market?

Ah bonjour monsieur!
J'ai visité Paris 5 fois et je n'ai jamais vue une restaurant vegan ET crue....desolé, mais je croix que les francais préfère votre plates chaudes...malfortunement pour des gens comme nous.
Alors, je suis sure que vous pouvez trouver un bon marché organic - et c'est toujours possible d'acheter une salade nicoise (sans anchovices)

I have not heard of a raw restaurant, although there is a chic vegan cafe called "Naked" run by a very beautiful, healthy-looking British lady. I visit that place every time I go to Paris and they offer several dishes which are high-raw if not totally raw. It's located at 40, rue du Colisée in the 8th arrondissement -- in the Champs-Elysées area. Get off at the Saint Philippe du Roule Metro station. Call them at 0143290324 for better directions. It's somewhat casual, however. Don't know whether you're going for a formal restaurant.

It's extremely easy to be raw in Paris. The problem is not the scarcity of raw fruits and vegetables, because they're abundant especially in the spring. You won't go hungry; I can promise you that. The problem, for me anyway, is how not to be enticed by all the crêperies you find at every street corner! Now that's tough, man.

Every supermarket has a huge salad section. Look for Monoprix stores. They're everywhere. Boxed salads labelled "Bio" are all organic. I know you don't go to Paris to eat boxed salads, but thought I would mention. Some larger Monoprix stores have the fruits et légumes certifiés biologiques section. Keep your eyeball out for those.

The only farmers market I have visited is called Profil Diffusion. It's located at 221 rue La Fayette in the 10th arrondissement. Get off at the Louis Blanc metro station and go east for a few blocks. Call 0142051544 for their hours.

I lived in Paris for a year and there is an abundance of produce!! Do you know where you will be staying? There are lovely open markets almost every day of the week, though my two favorite were Marche Raspail (metro Rennes), Sunday early to about 1 (ALL organic and amaziing), and the Marche President Wilson (metro Iena or Alma Marceau)- not all organic, but lovely. Also the health food store there is called Naturalia. They are small, but all over.

Most restaurants serve a delicious salad, though you will likely have to request it without meat or cheese. I would advise to keep your request as simple as possible, it is very rude to adjust their menu at all, though they usually understand about meat.

There are also some great veggie/vegan places. I liked "La Victoire Supreme du Coeur", they serve some unique salads and delicious vegan food. My all time favorite is Piccolo Teatro, tiny, romantic, tucked in the heart of the Marais. If you go non-raw the apple crumble is the best.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions. I'll file them. I have not decided to go yet, but I'll some day. I'm doing some research now. France is in my heart.

Btw, I never have any problem travel raw. I have some experience of survival in the wilderness area, then to survive raw in a capital is a piece of cake... (raw cake). I'm unpretentious with my food, but there is something more...

It's nice to find vegetarian/vegan restaurants or cafes when you travel, not only for the food, but for the milieu, decoration, colors, fragrances, smells, the air, atmosphere, vibrations, whatever... to see people, maybe on a road similar like yours... listen to their voices... see their radiations... their colors... sort of food for your soul, even if you are not aware of your sensitivity.

I have found that these elevating, edifying feelings are an important part of travelling... triggers to raise your vibrations, your standard. Memories you can use to inspire yourself, years afterwards.

How about winter in Paris? Are the farmers markets open during that time of year as well (speaking about December-ish)? How about the abundance of produce during that time?

Don't quote me but I would imagine that Farmer's markets in Paris would be the same as in the states for wintertime. Unless they have an indoor market. This would be good information if me and my man ever move to Paris.
