I HAVE NEVER USED CABBAGE TO MAKE WRAPS WITH....and I bought some, and want to make some wraps...I always have trouble getting the leaves off without them tearing up! How do you get those tight leaves off the cabbage without tearing them up! I'll wait to make my wraps....until I hear.... I'm here waiting...

I've only used the red cabbage for the actual "wrap" itself. They have always come right off without any problem. The cabbage has usually sat out for a bit by the time I get to it. I don't know?? Perhaps, being room temperature might make it easier to come off.

I usually cut the bottom part of the cabbage off, so the leaves are released and then I peel from the bottom of the leaf. This way they don't break. As I peel off leaves, I cut a little further up, to release more leaves. Hope that explanation makes sense.

Thanks...after I peel all the leaves from the bottom, or at least cut the bottom off, will the whole cabbage start to deteriorate?? How should I store it, will a good ziploc bag suffice?? Thanks.
