Hi All,
One of the many reasons I am embarking on raw is to get more energy. What time do you wake up at? Did you start getting up ealrier after you started raw?
I would like to wake up with the sun, or earlier (hence my name)! Currently I wake up around 7:30am during the week and 10ish on the weekends.
I would love to be at work, full of energy by 7-8am and get more done during the day...I love feeling productive. But in the mornings I feel like just a little more sleep...
Will raw help me to feel energy in the mornings?

Hi Sunrise,
There are other factors besides diet that can have an effect on what time I wake up. Particularly, what time I go to sleep, and what kind of physical work or exercise I have done during the day.
When I am eating 100% Raw, I wake up more easily. But I go to sleep pretty late, so while I may wake up at 7ish I go to sleep at around midnight or later.
I have noticed that when I do wake up, I have a lot more get up and go then when I woke up from a SAD lifestyle.
your mileage may vary,
All the best,

I have found that I require less sleep! I wake up about 5-5:30 a.m. Then I am ready to start my day. I mean I literally bounce out of bed, excited!
But I tell you what! When 10:30-11:00 p.m. rolls around? I am ready to crash!
I have tons of energy between 2 and 3:00 p.m. when most folks are crashing from their SAD/CRAP foods.
This didn't happen when I was Vegan. Nope...

I’ve only been raw since the first of March. I’m sleeping a lot less, maybe six hours per night, and getting up between 5 & 6 am. But it’s not because I feel energetic. More like I’m just done sleeping and my mind starts racing and I figure I might as well get up since I get stiff laying around in bed anyway. I hope to be bouncing out of bed bright eyed and bushy tailed soon though.

I generally get up between 4-5 AM every morning and am raring to go. Although I generally start crashing around 6 in the evening, lately I have been getting a "second wind" and often do some household chores while everyone else is sleeping and not underfoot. ~ Cathy

well....with the recent time change, I am still out of whack- I am not wanting to wake up until 6:45 or 7ish. But my Goal is 5:30. I really like having a few moments to myself before my kiddo's are bouncing through the house;)
My schedule has not changed at all, but I do feel much more awake when I wake up. There is no two-hour window of grogginess. And in the past, I also needed my coffee in order to feel mildly productive, but the coffee is gone too. So, I just wake up and get moving without anything.
I am only about two and a half weeks into raw. I truly believe that it is the right thing to do for my body, but I haven't yet had any really remarkable changes in energy level. I think that what will happen is, over time, my body will have more and more energy, but gradually. Just like when you eat poorly, over time your body has less and less energy.

I used to sleep till around 8-8:30, get up, have breakfast and sit on the couch (stay at home mom) and feel like I could go back to bed...drained of energy.
NOW, even though I want to wake up earlier....I am waking at around 7.....(now mind you, I wake up with DH at 4:30 first, then go back to sleep in about an hour) but then wake back up around 7-7:30...ready to go....all day moving. I feel more organized, like my head is coming out of the fog! I am much more productive RAW! I go to bed around 11pm.

My schedule is the same since I've started raw (it's been 25 days now). On weekdays, I get up at 5am. This gives me enough time to cook breakfast for my boyfriend, make him his lunch, exercise for 30 minutes, shower, eat, and get to work by 8:30. On weekends, I get up between 6-7am. I have noticed that I am much more awake when I get up. I'm not groggy or like a zombie. I bounce out of bed and am ready to start my day! :D

I used to be a morning person, but lately since starting school, I don't get to bed until midnight or 1 am and I generally wake up about 8 am.. so I get 7.5 to 8 hours.

The alarm is set for 8; I may stay in bed for another hour listening to the news, or I may get up and start the Vitamix soaking in hot water while they talk sports. I often stay late at work, though.
On Saturdays I may have to be ready to leave at 8:15 to go to church, which means I have to pack lunch the night before.

I definitely wake up earlier and better when all raw, and esp. when fasting.
That is one of the huge differences I have noticed since I broke my fast Sat. :( I am looking forward to getting my energy and fasting. Raw high back!!!
Stick with it, and I bet you will love the energy you have..and the optimism with which you wake in the morning...

Hi sunrise, I've always been an early bird getting out at 5.30 am but I'm a golden oldie so they say we need less sleep!! But I get tired at 10pm and find my body really wants to lie down then. I have had a lot of energy on raw though and can walk or swim the afternoon away. All the best Annie

I usually get up at 3:00 (sometimes a little earlier). My goal is to eventually try to get 5-6 of consistent sleep each night. I go to be sort of late (sometimes, midnight-ish or later). So, I guess that has a lot to do with my energy not being where its at. I have finally noticed within the last month (started raw in August) a change- meaning I feel more energetic but I'm still not bouncing off the walls yet. It's hard to get my brain to accept that I need to be in the bed at 9 or 10p.m. There is still so much to do and the night seems so young still to me. I always have been a morning person though, no matter how late I go to bed. I consider sleeping in sleeping until about 6:30 or 7 a.m. (that does feel good on the weekend).
Not only do I need less sleep - but the sleep I get is so much more peaceful!
And "deep" - I wake up when the sun hits my face - around 6ish a.m atm.:D
I still have the alarm set till 6.45 just in case...but I think I'll begin to trust my instincts more...
I love raw!!
