View Full Version : do dates have to be soaked?

or is that just to soften them for recipes. I've found I really just like to nibble on them "regular" (unsoaked). Is that okay or is there a health-related reason for soaking? TIA!

No, soaking is only to soften them up for easier/smoother blending in some recipes - which is oftentimes not necessary even then if the dates are already very soft. So, enjoy your unsoaked dates! :)

Stick a walnut or other nut inside a date and it's like candy!
