I'm a newbie - will be re-starting the 30 day challenge tomorrow. Anyone out there who would share their weight loss success? I'm looking to read somethings to keep me motivated. I have a lot of weight to lose  and honestly think this would work for me if I can stay dedicated.

Thanks for sharing!
B.:p

Before I went raw, my weight was fluctuating slightly seasonally, and I wasn't trying to lose. I just figured I'm undertall, and I can bike, and I'm eating pretty well. I was around 80 to 85 kg.

I went raw at 81 kg. Within a couple of weeks I had lost a bit. Every so often it was as if someone waved a magic wand and poof! I'm 3 kg lighter. I'm now just above 63 kg (and have been 62.9) - and I'm still not trying to lose :)

Usually this poof was accompanied by a detox. Don't be afraid when this happens, it's only detox. :)

Hi, welcome to the world fo RAW :p My husband and I started RAW Jan 29th....to date I have lost 35 pounds and he has lost 25 pounds....I have learned for me that if i have a craving a bananna smoothie or avacado helps...because they fill you up and stay with you awhile..try not to think about what you are wishing you could eat and try something new...a recipe or fruit or do something else to get your mind off of the missed food. After a while you will cheat and think " why did i ever love or like this anyway " i promise it will taste really gross  Hope this helps...Love Ya, Triscuit

Welcome! More then my weightloss? I am healed of a couple devastating illnesses I have had - one being migraines my entire life. I'm 53. Eating raw has healed me of them. I have not had one migraine since going raw 9 months ago. Also my thyroid is totally functioning now. It was not previously.
I've also dropped 40 pounds. THAT is secondary to how WELL I feel.

hey there

when i first started down my raw path 18 months ago, i was 5'9.5 and 153 lbs. the first 6 months, i was about 50% raw and probably dropped 5 lbs. the next 12 months i slipped into high raw mixed with 100% raw, with lengthening periods of 100% and have gradually dropped the last 18 lbs. ill be 100% one day, i swear! :p

im now 130 lbs. 23 lbs may not seem like much, but i didnt have all that much to lose in the first place. BUT my entire body shape has changed..im the firmest i have ever been and i dont even workout anymore (and i USED to play intense traveling soccer with 3 practices and a game a week..and then i was into running and would run 5 miles a day..AND weightlift  ) and to think, none of that exhaustion could ever live up to the raw lifestyle. im pretty convinced ill become superhuman once i become active again this upcoming summer ;)

First I suggest getting the Book & DVD, once you go to that part of Alissa's site you will see before & afters. There was a clip from the Tyra Show that's really cool. If not you can see the entire show on You Tube. I think it was called Diet Wars.

Second look up all the challenges THAT CUTE BANANA ABOVE WILL LEAD THE WAY, there is a March one right now & soon to be APRIL. I am on that one & feel free to join in with us.

Next the tomato above will lead you to the journal section, that is an endless source of inspiration.

Raw Priestess, Carlene & others have lost large amounts of weight.

Last but not least ask questions.

Good luck

Weight loss comes in waves for me. I'll be lethargic and detoxing for awhile and my weight remains the same. Then I'll snap out of it, feel more energetic and the weight just flows off. Expect cycles.

Welcome to raw! You will love it!! I've lost close to 80lbs now in addition to healing fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, IBS, depression, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, and chronic bladder infections/inflammation. Stick with raw! You can't go wrong!

Blessings,

Audrey

OMG! you totally inspire me! I am having difficulties with my back pain and just sprained my foot last week after I was ready to go back to belly dancing to stay fit.
I think i want to try the green smoothie feast. I am just concerned that I have actually gained weight since going raw this year about 75% and biking alot because I put on muscle. I weight 170 now but want to get back to my real weight of 130/135... it has been years since ive had that lovely body!!

i need to let my gut go and drop this weight as I believe it is not helping my issues of pain since my car accident last year. YUCK!

but it is a challenge since i cant really do much exercise, no jogging or running. i think im going to get back into yoga and do some pilates at home.

is always motivating to me. It also helps me "see" how people are thinking about raw, what their approaches are, how they incorporate it, how they respond to other people who aren't raw . . . so read the blogs and get inspired!
