Every year for the last 5 years I do a 3 week juice fast. This year is no different. I really believe that they are neccessary for me. My current challange is this... I am cold. Big time. It is nearly 80 degrees outside and I drive in the car with the windows up and the heat on. My heat is on inside the house! I am wearing sweaters and getting dirty looks. Is anybody here having detox like this? And if it is detox, what is it detoxing? I've not experienced this before.

I think that when you fast your blood gets thinner and that contributes to the cold feeling. I get it also..and one time, while camping and eating mainly raw and having lost some weight, I could not get warm..brrrrrr...that was weird.. I just kept shivering..and shivering...

In my recent fasting I have not experienced it so much yet..but, as I continue to drop weight, I expect I will again...

I would say just bundle up and ignore the weird looks.. ;)

I am not sure what else contributes to it. I am looking forward to seeing any other responses you get...:D

I think it's just an effect of the metabolism slowing down. Try adding ginger to your fruit and veggie juices, or maybe a little chili juice to warm you up (careful with this one, just add a little at a time  )

Also, things like yoga, chi kung, 5 tibetans are good for raising the energy, I always find they warm me right up.

Did I forget to mention that when I exercise, I get really dizzy. I got put out of my aerobics class because I was scaring the instructor with my crazy look

You know? Thinking back - I was cold when I first started raw and that was last June/July here in MD - it surely wasn't cold then! Interesting!

I am just finishing my second raw winter.
The first one I was so cold and sat on the radiator in every house I went into.
This winter was no problem. I was back to normal.
It will pass.

I still experiance that occasionally, as if some days my body doesn't want to warm itself up. Even eating more doesn't help...I think I have thyroid/metabolism issues :p

Sport- good to hear that from someone who's been through it.
