when you dehydrate do you take all screens out?

I don't, I leave them all in there.

I have been using mine for about 4 years, and never had any trouble just leaving the screens in.

I don't leave the tefles sheets in there, except to dry, and to dehydrate on, as they do stop the air flow a little, I roll them up and place them in a drawer.

Every once in a while you will want to wash the screens and racks, the easiest way to do this is to soak them in your sink, with a little warm water, then rinse them off. the food just falls off of them so easily.
