Hi Everyone, I have been visiting this forum for a while, just kinda snooping around trying to gain as much information as possible. I have tried to eat live before and reverted back to eating my regular cooked foods..lots of veggies with a little chicken and fish. Its hard as I am a single parent with 4 children ranging from 18-3. The 3 yr old eats what I eat, but basicallyI am the only one in a house full of eaters that desires to be raw.On several occasions I have served my children soy substitute, in spaghetti or breakfast sausage and they don't notice the difference. So I am going to try this raw thing again..it may take me a while to get the equipment that I want..like a better blender and a dehydrator, and I definately would like to get Alissa's book. Wish me Luck!

Awwww, don't be so hard on yourself. It's hard enough raising kids and doing (what you think) is the right thing. Also, try to hook up with other Moms and see what they've done. I'm sure others will add to this thread.
Give your kids more fruits and veggies. That is a start.
I DO wish you luck, but you'll find after a while, you'll be okay with this "way" of eating. And kids I think, are more for the better tasting (raw) foods. They haven't been conditioned yet - like their Mom is...and I don't mean conditioned in a good way.

Welcome, Curl e locs
I admire your for trying to go Raw, given how challenging it can be to cook for your family, while trying to maintain your own very powerful and healthy choice to eat Living Foods! More power to you!!!
I also cook for my partner, but it's easier cuz I'm only cooking for one other person.
I can say that Living on Live foods has been such a wonderful healing choice in my own life, and those of many who participate on this lovely forum!
I'm also glad that you found Alissa's forum, too, because this is a superb place to give and receive support and encouragement for staying a raw as you can or want to. I have no raw fooders in my life, except for the fine folks I have meet here. And having this forum has been a life-saver!:)
I certainly wish you all the LUCK in the World!!
Blessings on your journey toward your greatest well-being!

Hi curl e locs,
Nice to meet you. Welcome aboard. I look forward to hearing more about your adventures. For kids, start them out with fruit smoothies and then gradually start sneaking in some green leaves. Actually that works for grown ups too. Best wishes to you and yours.
