View Full Version : Food passing through me in 4 hours!

Euphemism for diarrhea.
I have been running to the bathroom all day! I saw my lunch sitting in the toilet a few hours after I ate it. I have been doing extra probiotics all day (capsules, sauerkraut, kombucha) to cover it from that angle. This is following my day yesterday where I was feverish and had a headache- so signs point to detox. I haven't stopped eating because I am still hungry (even more so... nothing is staying in me) but I have cut down a bit on food. I know this may call for fasting, but I have been out of commission for so long and missed a lot of school- and now we are BACK from spring break- fasting is not really an option until school is out at this point.
I know that waiting it out will probably lead to relief soon, and that is what I intend to do- while listening to my body--- and letting myself run to the bathroom when necessary. I am only wondering if there is something I am forgetting about? I didn't know it was possible to have food go through you so fast!!!!!
I am more just covering my back- making sure everything is ok, when I know it is probably detox.
Please, just soothe my mind!!!
Love, Chevy
Hope you feel better. Sounds like your body is getting rid of something!

Sorry that it's bring you discomfort. That's my goal-- to have my food passing right through (not diarrhea though)

I'm not sure, but if my memory serves me right, bananas helped me when I went through the same experience some months ago (have just come back to raw foods..)
I'd be careful of the sauerkraut - cabbage will keep you in the bathroom!

It has been continuing for 2 days now! I feel fine except the cramp, bathroom run, and the water passing through my colon pushing out almost whole food. I keep on eating because I am STARVING! what is going on!?!?!?!?!?!?

Hi Chevy,
It sounds a lot like my irritable bowel symptoms which I found relief from by living on green smoothies. Whatever you are doing now isn’t working. Try something different. A juice fast, a green smoothie cleanse, a mono diet, something different then what you are doing now.

I know this seems like such a simple problem- but I am having a lot of stress over it! Somebody reassure me, or guide me!
V Winters, I am considering a green smoothie cleanse- even though it may induce similar digestive reactions- as it did when I had oine yesterday- but I am hesitant to believe I have IBS. I had amazing digestion until.... now- 8 months into raw- and before raw never had problems either.
But the condition is concerning me- tell me I'm a worry wort!

Veganforlife just went through something very similar not too long ago - she said it was a bug that was going around. As I told her, it is usually best to give your stomach a rest and keep well hydrated. Hope you feel better soon ~ Cathy

or the fact that I just picked up the salted almonds I was snacking on sunday morning, for another snack- having a salty salty craving because of all the stuff i am LOSING. THEY ARE RANCID. maybe this is the problem?
hahaha, still- I just ate 2 more accidentally. Wondering why they tasted so bad. I just fed the fire :(

Sungoddess!!!
I had something similar a few weeks ago. I believe it was a bug. Everyone around me got it for over a week, since i work in a school, everyone catches everything... mine only lasted one day, I believe because of my diet!
I couldn't keep anything in.. and although I felt hungry, I only opted for TONS of water, fresh juices and unpasteurized apple juice (not raw) with probiotics... I had read in an old thread that Revvell suggested this and it worked! I slept lots and when I felt ready, I had some bananas.
It might not help, but that's all I've got to give for now..
I send you some great big HEALING vibes... and alot of all of this is just feeling, sensing and trusting in what you body needs and wants.
strength and hope and motivation... I'm sending all that too during this time.. and just know, we are all here to support, and help!!!

thanks raw orchid! I am going to try and eat a liquid diet tomorrow wich green smoothies and drinks. I was afraid to "fast" or cleanse- because I dind't want to become weaker- but that is a stupid mind set! I need to get over this!
Thank you for the healing vibes- I believe I will be on my way to healing!

sungoddess - this sounds like the flu, but as inexperienced in all this as I am, I could be wrong! The past two weeks one of the worst flus has been going around the area where I live. People who never get sick are home spending hours on, or leaning over, the toilet. My daughter spent twelve hours throwing up, then got a high fever with diarreah, and within 36 hours was back to normal. My son had a very bad gut ache, got all clammy, and I was sure he was next to the bathroom, but he recovered without much else happening. I threw up and had a little diarreah - bad cramping, it was very uncomfortable.
I know it's that time of year where stuff is going around a lot, and I am thankful that because of eating vegan and transitioning to high raw that my immune system is stronger than it's ever been!
Ginger is good for the tummy, digestion too I think, so maybe some hot water with a few superthin slices of fresh ginger root??
And breathe, dearie, breathe! :)

Thanks, this is the third day its gone on- the diarrhea.
I thought it couldn't be because I had "the flu: for two weeks this month already. But it was different, no stomach stuff- all fever and headache. So maybe this is another one!?

maybe your system had some "leftovers" from the flu and this was its way of getting rid of it.
Glad you are better!!

Maybe!
I'm not better though, I said: this is the third day its gone on... meaning it is still going on STRONG. I knwo that was kind of bad wording, and could have been interpretted as me saying it was GONE.
Still wondering! Stilly suffering!
My bum hurts! too many days of dairrhea! I need it to stopppp!
haha, its not really funny- but I guess I can look at it that way too
