View Full Version : Which food is your new favorite?
I just ate a tomato like most people eat apples (surely others around these parts do the same)...
And no stomach ache. WOW
Back in the day (about a couple weeks ago), I had to avoid nice, beautiful tomatoes because of the acidity. And onions too! And oranges and nectarine, and just anything nice and juicy, for the most part.
How many of you "could not" eat a certain food (because of allergy, acid, taste anything), and now can and do enjoy that food thoroughly.
My new favorite is the tomato!
I always hated celery. Now I'm just crazy for it. I've been having carrot celery juice every day and I'm just in love with the smell, taste, eveything about the celery. It's so strange. I never used to like green bell peppers either, and I'm eating them recently. Not crazy about them, though.

I used to hate celery, too. And now I can't get enough of it. I drink carrot/celery/apple/kale/beet juice on a regular basis. The only thing I've never been crazy about...is BRUSSEL SPROUTS:eek:.

Hi Everyone,
I have to join the Celery Appreciation Club!
I used to hate celery, too. I'd avoid it, and pick it out of any food it may have been in that when I was eating out. Now I devote a good portion of my garden to the delectable juicy crisp stalks. Right now I am eating the Organic Ones I geet at the Grocery Store.
I also used to avoid Bananas- never thought they were that great. Now I live for bananas!!!:)

I think I only had celery on my first day or so. I keep meaning to get more... It's at the top of my list!
And ditto on the bananas! Wow, they are so sweet and yummy now!

I never really liked bananas before, but now I eat at least 2 or 3 a day in smoothies. I also realized that for the banana to taste like its supposed to taste, you have to wait until there is no green on the stem (that's when it finally gets ripe and ready to eat):)

My whole life I TRIED to like watermelon or cantelope, and it wasn't until I was raw for about 2 months straight, that I started to CRAVE watermelon, and then cantelope.
My current, can't live without favorite is CAULIFLOWER! I went thru a whole head in just 2 sittings...by myself. Gotta hit the store to buy more! I love it drizzled with olive oil with a LITTLE sprinkle of salt and pepper!

You can make cauliflower hummus!
2 c cauliflower, chopped
1 cup tomato, diced
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 cup raw tahini
Toss in blender and YUM!
I used a stalk of celery to get the blender turning.
Can be eaten with veggies, thrown over mixed greens, or in a collard or cabbage wrap.

CHILOVE!
I love Mangos and Persimmons, too! I had never had Persimmons until I Went Raw (my second time, actually;) )
Both contain Abundant Ripe Luscious Juicy & Sweet Nectar of the goddess!
Ciao,
Elena
Kate: Your hummus sounds delicious! I don't even really exactly know what a tahini is, but I'm going to find out...
I haven't had a persimmon yet, so that is next on my list now!
I think it's great how we can get so excited about food, yet it's soooo good for us! I didn't get excited about SAD pizza the way I get excited about fruits and veggies now. :)

My new favorite is Fred Patenaude's Pina Colada
1/2-1 pineapple (depending on size), water and meat from young coconut and some agave. Blend it in the Vitamix with a couple of handsful of ice til smooth.
OMG!! it is nectar of the gods! My husband and I have at least one of these every day.

Avocados. I've always thought they tasted awful. Now I'm making Alissa's Avocado chutney, so good, and am really starting to like them. :)

I’m really digging the fresh cilantro this week. Never really tripped my trigger before.
