Well I am in Seattle, not Michigan, though I hail from Sault Ste Marie on the Canadian side. Just wanted to welcome you to the forum.

Thanks so much for the info... I'm at the South End of the Mackinac Bridge-about 50 miles from Sault Ste. Marie. I have to go to Petoskey (45 miles) to get produce. I have ordered via the web from all over & my Dehydrater should be here soon. I plan to try & grow some things this Summer, but I have never really had a "Green Thumb." I think sprouting will be fun, though.
I will look up all the links you gave me. Thanks again... Lana :o

Lana,
I am in the Kalamazoo/Portage area and don't know any other people who eat raw either. I do a lot of ordering from different web sites too. At least we have a local farmer's market during the summer, but no Whole Foods or Wild Oats stores anywhere around here. I do the best I can with buying organic produce at supermarkets.
Glad to see someone else from Michigan here. :)

Hi Edda, Thanks for writing !!! I grew up in Kalamazoo/Portage. Actually still think of K-zoo as my Home town.
When I was there 1 1/2 years ago, I remember a Great Store on Oakland Drive. It was around the Parkview Hills area. I think they had some Organic Raw. I don't remember the name.
I think you are right to just order online, & do the best you can. I may have to succumb to not everything being organic. I hope to grow a garden this Summer. (If Summer ever comes) Thanks for writing. Lana :p :p

Welcome Lana!
I am not from Michagon, but my best friend is, so have visited
many times over the years. Was up in Menomonee last summer for
a wedding (my journal pic). Been to Mackinaw Island a few times.
Beautiful up there.
Good Luck on your quest for organic foods
and you've come to the right place for support and information. ;)
Best Wishes on your raw journey.

Hi Lana,
I'm from the Lansing, Michigan area. We have a few local organic stores. One is called "Foods for Living" in East Lansing and another one is "The Better Health Store" in Lansing. I'm also involved in a raw foods support group here in town that meets once a month. There's about 3 raw foods groups that meet in different areas each week. Last week, Victoria Boutenko came to give a talk at our group. I feel really blessed to have all this available to us.
If you ever make it into Lansing, here's our website that you might like to look up. www.livinghiho.com. It has recipes of what people bring to the potlucks. We have a good time! Maybe we'll see you sometime!
Take care, Sandy :)

Banananana-The health food stores are great! We have "Foods for Living" & the East Lansing Food Co-op in East Lansing. We have "Better Health Store" near Frandor in Lansing. And our local Kroger or Meijer stores have organic produce now too. Also in the summertime, there's a Farmers Market behind the Meridian Mall in Okemos that sells organic produce from local farms. You're going to love it around here!
Take care, Sandy :)
