Ok..call me lazy...I know I could search the Net, through books etc but I just thought I'd ask... :D
Apart from "bread type" recipes that use a dehydrator, what other kinds of things can you make with sprouted wheat? Can you use it in salads? As I've had no luck with the barley, I wondered if I could use it instead of sprouted barley for some recipes (yep, Mexican rice is still on my wish list ;) )

Yes, you can use sprouted wheat in place of the sprouted barley in any recipe. I have often taken a sprouted grain, stirred in chopped tomatoes, celery, onion, corn off the cob, olive oil, lemon juice, any seasonings I am in the mood for, and let set for an hour. It has always come out delicious. No need for a specific recipe, just throw whatever you have in there. Zucchini, radishes, jalapenos, carrots, etc... with some type of vinagrette dressing.

Hi, I often used sprouted spelt in my barley burgers, which are really Alissa's meatloaf recipe that I make into burger patties and dehydrate, they are scrumptious raw, dehydrated or 1/2 dehydrated. I eat them almost every day, YUMMY.
They are also good in Alissa's morning muffin recipe.
Good luck with your quest.

Dear Carumba,
spelt and kamut are original forms of un-hybridized wheat. I can't eat wheat in any form, but I can eat spelt and kamut.
I buy the spelt berries at a local bakery, and the kamut berries at the health food store.
