Hi Everyone,
Sometimes when something is posted here, although you may not see a lot of responses on this site, we on this end, get a TON of emails. so a few quick things I want to clear up and let you know about.

Since I was not able to keep up and answer the thread on goldmine products. .. Someone posted that their shredded coconut was not raw. Well, we were shocked here because we buy HUGE quantities of this item from them and we were told that they were raw. They even had them listed on their site as raw.

We have stopped selling these and we are returning the unused stock back to them.

We only buy the oats and nama shoyu from them. Goldmine is a reputable company. They are not all raw fooders so something got lost in the mix which is unfortunate. But the oats have been guaranteed to me that that are indeed raw. They are flaked and not heated or steamed. The nama shoyu is their product and is sold worldwide and you all know about that.

We will be carrying coconut powder which is an amazing product. I am switching some of my products to a company that we get many many things from. All of our distributors are great to deal with but I particularly like this company because the man who runs it is a raw fooder and he sends us tons of info and samples and spends hours on the phone with us letting us know where he is getting his supply and how it is produced, etc… He is super careful with every product he buys. So most of our stock now is coming from him, raw cacao, maca, carob powder, coconut powder, goji berrrie, and on and on.

Just wanted to clear that up since some of you were nervous about the whole coconut fiasco.

I do my best to make sure everything is of the highest quality and that I don’t sell anything I wouldn’t eat myself.

----------------------

We are also buying, from the company I mentioned above, a truly raw agave. Now, right now I sell madhava which they have assured me is raw. Many of you know from research being done that there is a lot being written that no agave is truly raw. Then some will argue that there is a Blue Agave that is really the only true raw one. Well, I have news for you. The blue agave is not truly raw either. We just got a sample of this new agave and it is unbelievable.

I’ve tried many many agaves and this does not taste like any I’ve had. AND it is crystal clear, no color at all! So that will be coming soon.

If your still using the madhava and you feel fine about it, that’s ok. Kind of like the cashew debates and many other things raw fooders fight about. It’s the best that’s been out there but as things come to me from other sources I’ll do my best to make them available to you all. We’re always searching for the best products to carry from the most credible sources.

I am sorry to make you repeat, but I was confused by wording... Madhava is NOT trully raw like it says now on the site? Or it IS, but just not as fantastic as the new, clear agave that you will soon be selling? Either way, I feel ok with madhava, I am only curious!

Sorry I am not understanding correctly!

Thanks Alissa!

Alissa -

Thanks for all of the hard work that you and your staff put into doing these things for us! It's amazing, and I know it can't be "easy" (nothing truly worth anything in life comes without at least a little hard work)!

Looking forward to the class!

That’s ok, no problem. It’s confusing for us as well. It’s tough when products come out and are all the rage and the ‘newest and best raw product’ and then research becomes available after its been out for a while that states that maybe these products are not ‘truly’ raw.

Madhava says that their agave IS raw. They are a great company to deal with and I’ve liked doing business with them and trusted their judgment.
BUT…Lately there has been a lot of info saying that certain agaves are not raw and the only real agave is Blue Agave. So everyone started selling that. It’s hard to find the truth with this stuff sometimes as everyone has their ‘proof’.

Now the person that I’m working with has sent me a sample of this agave and is saying that even though he also thought the blue agave was truly raw he did a large amount of research and he has found out otherwise. He did send me some written material on it and I’ll be glad to post it here. I need to go through and find it and ill post it within the next day or so. (It’s still on my shippers computer I believe as he just sent it to us, so ill have her send it over).

It’s amazing stuff. Crystal clear, you can see through it and it takes really different from any other agave.

So, it’s one of those things… people as me about miso and nama shoyu and all of that. My answer is that most raw fooders use it and consider it raw but it is cooked soybeans that are THEN fermented. So is it truly raw? And as for agave, they are still telling me the madhava is raw. Maybe the way they process it, but who knows where the original source is? I don’t know.

That’s why I like working with this person who I’m getting most of my products from now. He does all the research and is a real ‘stickler’ about it. As I’m not a scientist it’s a bit harder for me. But he is more into the scientific data and researches everything! He talks to us in detail about all the products he sells and we’ve become one of his biggest buyers so he is constantly keeping us updated and isn’t afraid to call back a product if it doesn’t live up to his high standards. He just sent us cherries and mulberries and we will be adding those as well to the site so stay tuned for more amazing - -really raw –products!

Ill post the info on the agave and as soon as he gets it in, I’ll be selling it, probably in a month or so.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I know this stuff can be frustrating for people. That’s why I really try to make sure everything I sell is without questions, truly raw and above board and if to my knowledge anything is not, we will not sell it or we will remove it immediately from the site, like the coconut shreds.

Best,
Alissa

hehehe- all this time I thought I was 100% :) I have only been about 90% (Yes... I use agave a lot). But I am still so pleased with the journey I have taken, I have no regrets.

Thanks Alissa! Can't wait to try the new agave!
