I was trying and trying to find an old recipee I had 5 or 6 years ago for ginger brew. I used to love drinking the Reed's brand ginger brews. I was visiting a friend who makes them from scratch and they were great.
Of course this recipe isn't raw and requires heat for the ginger. But I was thinking, this recipe can be tweaked somehow:
-like maybe letting the ginger and water steep or sit for the whole day
-or mincing the ginger root first and then letting it steep in the water for a day or several hours
- another idea is to add some minced ginger to the drink instead of staining in order to get a good strong brew
I'm not sure about the carbonated water though. I haven't tried this recipe but I found it on that recipee site. If Ican find the one I used to use, I'll post it. I have lots of ginger and I am going to play around with making a ginger brew using one of these methods I suggested and see what happens without the carbonated water. If you find something that works, please post, ginger brews are refreshing!
