Hi Everyone,

I've been thinking lately ......................

Wow 3 years

Someone changed my life .......me....with a little help from Alissa...well a lot of help from Alissa

I still crave a Wendy's cheeseburger now and then

Never knew how many meals I could make with a head of romaine

It's all mental

No great secrets

Stay active so you don't think about food so much

Yeah, Yeah, drink water.....I like VOSS

Invest in a good blender and kitchen tools

Eat the spectrum......."look at those persimmons dude"

This website will help.......good support and ideas

Eat from the earth not from a box

You'd be surprised how many of your friends have tried raw, but will never tell you that you inspired them

Friends come and go but you'll always have Misslinda

Rawkinlocs is a saint

Preppy colonies.....can you say Fairfield

Check in with you later......

Peace,

M.B.

monkeyboy.... Wow, 3 years, that's AWESOME, dude :D

I'm headed to the grocery store and am going to take your advice of "eat the spectrum". I always go for the same ole fruits and veggies but I really need to try new things. I've never eaten a persimmon... or a durian... or a dragon fruit... or a whole lot of others....

Love the "Eat from the earth, not from a box" :)

That was sweet of you to call out the ladies that helped you out. I remember reading all the old archives with you guys. It was fun "watching" you all grow in this journey together, lending eachother such great support. And how difficult it was for you at first. I'm soo glad that you're doing well and have stuck with this. It is encouraging. I've inspired a lot of people too. Its a great feeling. My roommate came up to me the other day and said, "I was almost 100% raw today!" It was sooo great, I didn't even know she was trying. :) So thanks for the insightful words. And thanks for the kindness.

Hi Everyone,

Well, well....now I know who my friends are.

Just back from one of those goofy outlet malls. Just how I wanted to spend my Sunday. Old Navy, Gap, Lauren,Coach....blah, blah. My wife just can't say NO.

Went into the kitchen stores and looked at blenders. As you know the kids busted mine the other day trying to be like Dad and whip up a smoothie.

I am touched by your responses to my post/thread.

Raw is a crazy journey, but its all about choices.....do you eat the French fry or the apple. You decide.

I'm sorry I do not have a bunch of pictures.

The crazy internet scares me. I did post a photo, but with the new format on the site it looks like it's gone. My friends say I look like John Mayers older brother or Orlando Bloom's cousin.

To be honest the before and after thing never excited me.

I lost 30lbs right off the bat and have maintained my weight of 185lb or so for some time.

I encourage you to read past posts by some of my favorite raw fooders:

Dudes,

Thanks for the bump up on this post.

I think it's one of my best.

Just straight from the heart...no BS.

I love you guys.

Keep those cards and letters coming.

The postmaster at my local post office freaks out from all the mail my fan club receives.

Peace,

I started reading this thread at post #1 and when I got to the line "Eat from the earth not from a box" I grabbed my pencil and my favorite book where I will very occasionally write a quote like this that I really like and I wrote it into the book. After that I kept reading this thread and it was interesting how many other people heard a "resonant chord" in this line also. Thanks MB :)

I was curious how Alissa helped you...specifically...

Did she come and stay with you, were you able to hire her to cook for you, are you personal friends? Was it through her book and DVD? Or was it something else?

Only share if you don't mind sharing....although this probably goes without saying....:)

Yo Nutty,

I first read about raw foods in Gourmet Magazine.

Charlie Trotter was giving it a try.

Alissa and I used to post on another site before she started rawfoodtalk.

I'm proud to say I was personally invited to join rawfoodtalk by Alissa.

I don't post as often due to my active life.

Please go back and read some of my very early posts.

I wish you the best.

Peace and Turkey grease,

M.B.
