Ok I have a question:D I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fed up with wearing glasses! I mean ugg:p I am wondering how normal it is in the first place to lose our eye sight like this. I mean if this was back in the day we'd... well... be dead if we couldn't see properly (like we'd get eaten and wouldn't see it coming till it was too late, someone with perfect eye sight would see a lion coming a lot soon then I would:o ). I didn't start even having problems until grade 8. I just find it hard to believe that this is part of being human. It seems like it'd be a pretty big flaw.

So is it possible to ever get eye sight back, or is it just gone forever?

Thanks

Yeah, eyesight is linked to the liver. My friend's mum quit alcoholic drinking and her optometrist said to wait six months to get her prescription updated, that her eyes would change that much. I've heard of successful healing of vision, just normal farsightedness or the reverse, holistically. Involved a really healthy diet, we got that covered, and special eye exercises, plus not using your glasses and contacts in that period. I don't know how to access that info though. I'd be handicapped without my glasses at first though.

Of course (depending on how you feel about it) you can always get LASIK surgery. It's a rather short outpatient procedure that will run you approximately $1000.00 to never need glasses again. I'm not a huge fan of doctors for preventative medicine....but they are pretty good these days at fixing the effects aren't they? LOL. Anyway.....anyway...I AM appreciative of what they do.

Lasers, on my eyeballs?

I'd rather live with poor vision which I am than risk anything going wrong. Vision is too important.

I'm also hoping to heal my vision through raw food. It's hard to go without glasses or contacts. If your prescription is -2.00 or less, you can go without glasses almost all the time. Not driving though. If you are worse, like me around -4.00 it's much harder to go without. It's a pretty big inconvenience. In that case you might try using a reduced prescription. My full prescription is about -4.00, which comes out to about 20/300. I can get by 99% of the time at work using -2.00 contacts. I can even drive with that, though not legally. As your vision improves, assuming it does, you can further lower the prescription. If your full prescription get's below -2.00 you can all but toss out your glasses. If you get to -1.00 there is almost no reason to have glasses.

How much are your eyes off? I'm about 2 diopters nearsighted, and it doesn't bother me even when I'm biking. I haven't noticed a change yet.

I agree with David. I got Lasik surgery done last January and it was like a miracle to me! Mine costed $2,000.00 though cause I was so blind before I had it done!

I'm -2.75 I believe, and without glasses I can't see anything far away.. ok like after 2 feet I feel disabled, lol. Maybe I've just gotten really used to the help from glasses? If your liver has to do witht hat what kind of things could you do to help your liver? I don't drink much (like 6 times a year at the most, I hate drinking) but if I can get better eyesight I'll drop that to never, lol.

What fruits and veggies help with the liver? Also I am wanting to do a 30 day juice fast, will that help clean it out too?

Thanks for all the great info!

Oh, and as far as the eye surgery I've been told that you have to have like -3.5 or more to be even eligable for it to work properly, apparently the less help you need the less effective it is... but maybe that guy had his info wrong :P I hope, cuz I'd like to try get some back by being healthy and if I can't get it all then maybe consider some other help.

Firicia,
Alissa said that she used to wear glasses and doesn't need them now.

However, Angela of www.rawreform.com is hoping to heal her eyes, but the last I read, she hasn't accomplished that yet.

There has to be hope that we can get rid of our glasses with eating raw. The prescription ought to be at least better.

green prince:

what did you do to improve your sight? what's that book about?
i'm -5,50 nearsighted, going on -5,75. I'm so scared of loosing my vision as I get older (i'm only 20), but everyone in my family wears glasses. Could it be a genetical thing? Or is my liver just really effed up?

Like Firicia, I rarely drink alcohol, but a lot of water, I work out every day, eat healthy and 50-70% raw. Could there be shit in my liver anyway? what are the symptoms of having a toxic liver?

lots of questions there...

love

Lasik don't last, you have to keep having it done every so often... my mom had that once.

My eyesight improved on raw. I'm not sure the exact numbers, but the optomitrist said she's never seen it happen before.

This is a vision program from mercola.com
http://www.mercola.com/products/natural_vision_cd/index.htm

that might help.

Apparently, it can completely reverse bad eyesight, and it makes sense, I also read the testimonials on greg marsh's site.

Ive ordered it, and I WILL post a review of it after I have finished it.

I've heard of people getting their eyesight back to normal eating raw but it hasn't happened for me. I've been raw 3 years and nothin. Sigh. The glasses are annoying, but they make me look smart, so I deal. ;)

Well, I dont think a person can improve their eyesight if they wear their glasses at the same time, so even if its uncomfortable and blurry, to improve ones eyesight, you need to remove the glasses, and rate the improvements from there.

So even if your eyesight did improve, the glasses would instantly make them bad again,

Well, I thought it might be something like that. There's no way I could go without them for an extended period to repair them though. I have to drive for my job, daily, and I can't drive without them. Legally it says I can, but I see WAY too many blurry things/shadows and feel unsafe driving without.

Its a catch 22 situation, which is a shame.

I dont know what the answer is if a person did need their glasses so much that they cannot remove them.

Personally, I didnt really need my glasses for anything, and my eyesight was (is) awful, and they were only needed to correct my basic every day eyesight. I dont drive etc etc so I didnt need them for that . So i just threw them away, even though everything was blurry, Ive gotten used to it, and ive seen some improvements.

I would reccomend joining the bates method forum and ask around there.

In Alissa's book and other books I have read about many having eyesight improvement and even complete healing.....so try raw and if it works great and if it doesn't, well, do what is your next on your plan of action. Good Luck.

A company called Blessed Herbs has a liver detox program that you may be interested in, their website is http://www.blessedherbs.com

I have heard about that from Mercola's site too, and will be very interested to see what your results are.

My brother-in-law is a pilot and reversed some of his eyesight damage from juice fasting on carrot juice. It's worth a try. :)

Oh.. and he didn't turn orange either!!

I had it done in August. I'm very happy with it. One interesting thing that happened is that after I went raw I had a sort of healing crisis where my eyesight "went" for about a half hour, then came back again. (Tunnel vision, couldn't focus, blackout areas in vision). Pounding headache until the next morning when I woke up and had more perfect vision than I'd ever had in my life. Very freaky but cool to think of my body healing itself from the past 'trauma'.

Is this referring to damaged eyes and eye conditions and injuries, or just general bad blurry eyesight ? or both ?
