I know this is a crazy thing to post....well maybe not LOL but I have to let those newbies out there know what has happened to me personally since beginning raw. I have to admit that I've eaten cooked for whatever reason and just keep coming back cause i LOVE IT!!!
Now the first thing I noticed was yes..lack of cramps during PMS..yes thats right no cramps= no advil just a heat bag. Being a previous member of the pill popper gang that is a good thing.
second, I haven't had a headache in weeks!!!!
My IBS is soooooo under control
and also I swear my vision is better. I have astigmatism but for the last week I'd say I have much clearer vision!!!
Oh this is so exciting!!
Although I haven't seen downward movement on the scale I guess my body is busyhealing all this other stuff and then I will lose.
Can you tell I"m excited?
have a super night!!

that's hilarious that you mention it! i've been telling everyone lately! i dealt with them for 10 years... missed school over it, burning my skin with heating pads so that i could just feel SOMETHING else.. and nothing! that single thing alone is enough to keep me hooked!

Yeaaa!!! Let's here it for the Raw Moon Cycle! Have you discovered the joys of reuseable glad rags? So much more comfortable than regular pads or tampons, highly recommend them. And who says it's a bad thing to be tuned in with the moon!

That's wonderful!!! Woo-hoo!!! What a great reminder of the benefits of raw food. :) Keep up the great work and continue to share your successes with us!
I didn't have a lot of cramps or headaches even when I was eating SAD, but for me, the biggest benefit I first noticed was my hair not falling out. That was a huge eye opener to me! :)
Blessings...

Do you have a link for these? My skin has been reacting to your typical "Always" pads and I need to find something else...

Hi RawFoodMommie- nah, I was working at a health food store and ordered a bunch from the wholesale catalogue Mountain People, now U.N.I.F. Your local hfs might access them. I also see them advertised in certain health-oriented magazines, what? can't remember now. They are really worth tracking down though, for the comfort level. Bless you! Stina on the Oregon Coast

A cleaned up diet changed my cycle from 5-7 days of hemorhagging, bloating cramps and misery plus 3-7lbs. weight gain etc. to ...
1-2 days of pink tinged spotting, no cramps, no weight gain, only tender breast to let me know hormones were shifting and that's it!!!!:D

I have always had HORRENDOUS PMS and periods. 1 week of mind-bending digestive issues, skin eruptions, irritability and lethargy. The night before my pd. I would always have a killer BLINDING headache, immobilizing fatigue, and would have morbid visions of my own death. (Docs recommended anti-depressants, but why the HECK would I take pills every day for something that only occurs ONE day a month? That is some wonky math, and some CrAzY pill-happy doctors.)
Since going raw, my periods are lighter. The night-before sinkhole of depression and morbidity is gone. The monthly breakout is pretty much a thing of the past. Breasts aren't very tender, a little swollen, but nothing uncomfortable. Much more managable. Also, whereas I used to be so tired on the first day that I would try to schedule clients around it, so I could say in bed...since going 100%, I noticed that my energy was pretty steady. This month I even ran 3 miles and biked 6 after doing a 3 hour massage on the first day of Lady Time!
Oddly this month, I had the most heinous burning in my Liver 3 acu-point, the night before. It felt like a hot poker jammed beween the bones of my left foot. I feel intuitively that this was just my liver channel doing a little purge and pipe cleaning. the headaches I usually had were what the Chinese refer to as Liver Headaches...liver yang rising...and so maybe they'll be MIA next month! (crossing fingers!)
Interesting stuff we're all experiencing. Think about it...I, for instance, had a week of bad PMS, and a week of hellish bleeding and cramps. In other words 2 weeks of every month were torture. LIghtening that load is like getting 50% of my life back! Wooo hooooo!

This is very motivating. I had the most horrible period from Saturday until last night -- with all of the symptoms described throughout this thread.
When I had been raw before and on a -consistent- exercise program, I also had no cramps and little fatigue. It was wonderful. Right now, the anxiety of anticipating it all is so bad! It's such a waste to live only two weeks of every month "normal". Stress intensifies it.
