So today on this forum I read something about cucumbers making your skin tighter. And it got me thinking, "Would eating raw help with stretch marks and varicose veins?" Does anyone have any experience with these probs? What foods would specifically help?

I think cucumbers make your skin tighter when they are applied externally, although I could be wrong, so anyone feel free to correct me.
That said, eating living foods definitely has an effect on your skin, and thus your skin's conditions.
I don't know about stretch marks, but I have certainly heard about people having their varicose veins improve while following a raw vegan diet.
I'm sure you will get all sorts of testimonials, and I am interested to read them too....

Actually, I thought it was internally. But we could both be correct. The reason why cucumbers are good is because they are full of silica which will repair connective tissue and skin. Yay for silica foods....tomatoes are also high in silica :) There is a whole list.

You could take MSM supplementation (which is a form of sulfur) to also assist with skin flexiblity repair. Quite a few raw foodist choose this route on top of their high quality food.

For varicose veins, I've heard my N.D. giving Rutin and pycnogenol. If you aren't into supplements..I'm sure you could find all the food sources that are high in those.

Just some ideas.....

Warmly,
Mishka
