Ok...all the talk of the best machines to get for making raw ice cream is getting to me. Especially, cuz it's in the high 70's here. I definitely plan on getting the cuisinart ice cream maker...cuz texture is everything with ice cream.
I happened upon a site in SanDiego, CA...that makes raw ice cream. Called Tomberlies (tom and kimberlie..how cute) Check it out at: www.tomberlies.com
The pictures are mouth watering.
And hey, why not order some! I'm not too far away I just might.

Ok if that isn't inspiration for you I don't know what would be. It's gorgeous. And I want to make my husband Raw ice cream just like that!!! And for my kids birthdays, so they don't feel like they are missing out!

Did you happen to check the ingredient list...
young thai coconuts
raw cashews,
water
agave
Flavorings and fruit

And I've seen the same/similar ingred. posted for raw ice cream for at other raw food resturants that sell it. It always seems to be the young coconuts and cashew combo...and I think I saw one with brazil nuts/milk too. Where are all our creative raw chefs on the board...Carmella...fairygirl...luna...???
As soon as I get my machine I'm going to play too, and I promise to share. Summer's comi'n!

cooling it down a bit,

Thanks for the link. But I'm saying drat...b/c I just went to San Diego this weekend. In fact I ate some raw vegan ice cream at Cilantro's down there and it prompted me to start the ice cream maker thread. Well now I have something to look forward to on my next visit home b/c I'm not paying $60 for shipping. They do look amazing though!

I just can't wait for Summer to indulge in Everything, Swimming, Sleeping in the RAW and Everything Icy.

But for me, there is no Ice Creme worth ordering when I can whip something up my self, and I will know FOR SURE, what is in it. But its all about whatever you need to KEEP you RAW, so if it works for you, I'm your biggest Cheerleader.

Thanks for Sharing.............

I do enjoy ice cream, but it isn't my vice. All my favorites have wheat in them which I am now allergic to. So it's not a tipping point for me at all. But...my husband and kids that is there absolute favorite dessert, and if I can get them to eat more at home raw stuff the better! Kwim?:)

I actually have a Nectarine ice cream recipe that was really good (flavorwise) but the texture was not silky smooth. Maybe the cuisinart ice cream maker will make a difference? I'll have to give it a whirl.....................

I created this when I started to get bored with banana ice cream, and it is sooooo yummy!

3 c. raw almond milk
1/8 c. finely chopped almond bits
3 Tbs. alcohol-free vanilla extract
1/8 c. raw agave nectar

Blend ingredients well, and put into an ice cream/sorbet maker. Mine was done in 30 minutes!
