View Full Version : For bodybuilders: morning breakfast?

I'd like to start weightlifting in the mornings but I am used to having a solid fuel before I hit the gym. Does anyone have a solid recommended morning breakfast for a raw foodist before he hits the gym? I'm guessing some green lemonade with lots of spinach, celery, and kale, but I really have no idea. I'd love any suggestions.

ide soak raw hullless oat groats around 18 hours or so then strain and eat with banana , walnuts , raisins , etc and cinnamon .
its an adjustment getting used to the oats this way in terms of taste buds , but in energy / strength terms i predict youll have an upgrade .

Dude I don't even know what hullless oat groats are or where I can get them. And strain them? What is the nutritional value of these that make them so useful? How much? (1/2 cup? 1 cup?) Blend with banana + raisins? I'm all about the blending if possible.

if you like blending ide suggest blending sesame seeds , like a half cup , into powder then adding water and banana and blend . sesame seeds are high in protein/fat and taste good in this combination .
on blending soaked oats it wouldnt taste good to me . and on hullless oats they are a variety that doesnt form a hull and thusly arent heated as alot of oat seeds are in order to remove the unchewable hull . below is a link to a site with oat sprout nutritional facts . but at this site the oat seeds are expensive and can be found cheaper else where . i'll post a cheaper site later .
also on blending you could grind up any nut or seed for a fruit smoothie base to get a heavy fat/protein dense solid fuel .
and could also add hemp seeds , which i havent tried but have a big rep .
