What are your favorite brands, suppliers? I've got two recipes that call for these ingredients. Is all coconut butter and agave nectar raw? Regarding the agave, is light, dark or blue preferable?

Thanks bunches,
RC

No, from what I gather, not all coconut oil/butter and agave is raw. General rule of thumb is that if it doesn't say raw, it isn't.
I use Nutiva coconut oil and whatever raw agave I can find that is cheapest. If you are looking solely at price, try amazon.

I absolutely love Nutiva's coconut butter. I have a raw agave from organic nectars and they assure me that it is raw $12.50 for 46 oz from amazon .com

go with these recommendations...not high quality coconut butter is NASTY. no taste and flavor at all! i use wholesome sweeteners organic raw blue agave from whole foods and jungle products coconut oil/butter. they are not cheap though and i probably need to find a better place to get them. you'd think in berkeley there would be a co-op but i have yet to find one! good luck!
